Facial toning devises - NuFace and the like. Any good?

Hi,

Late 30's with decent skin I suppose, but am definitely starting to get the jowls ☹️

I have a good skincare routine and do a bit of facial massage (when I remember) but my face still appears to be heading south for the summer 😭

I remember being tempted by these devises a couple of years ago, but was put off by the metallic taste side effects a lot of people were reporting. Think they can react with your fillings (?) which didn't sound like a good idea to me. However, I'm now getting desperate...

Anyone rate these? Any in particular?

TIA

Watching with interest. I have a jade roller but I am very lazy with using it…

@Wetcappuccino yes, I've heard they're quite good. I do have one of those vibrating facial massages, but can't say I've seen any difference really. I think just using my fingers to do it has more effect.

Go to a salon and have CACI with someone really good.
You'll need 10 sessions to start, very close together.
You'll learn how/where the muscles are and how to stimulate them.
Then you can have maintenance treatment in a salon every few weeks and daily nu-face, Rio, foreo at home.
You're working muscles, you wouldn't vaguely wave your leg around for a few minutes a day without knowing what you're doing and expect to develop beautiful sleek leg muscles.
TLDR: they're good for maintaining work you're having done by a professional, not so good if you just do it yourself!

Nu face mini it’s fantastic

SnBLurker · 11/07/2022 07:43

@DameCelia thank you.

@jibbe can I ask what kind of success you've had with it and how long it took?

I read yesterday that if you're training to perform a CACI treatment and the like, you shouldn't do it if the client has active cancer. Why is this? Does anyone know? It's put me off a little bit.

@SnBLurker well, it's like the fact you shouldn't have a deep massage if you have cancer. You shouldn't do anything that could potentially stimulate the lymphatic system ... our lymph nodes are responsible for whipping things around our body and if you have cancer, you don't want to take a risk, however small, of whipping it to other places

It's nothing to do with the device.

I have a Foreo Bear and rate it - also had a Nuface which was great but broke after a few years.

I notice it I don’t do it.

CACI is good but you have to get the treatment weekly. I stupidly booked the series with a holiday in the middle, so a couple of weeks off undid the good work and wasted my money. So you need to be able to go to a salon at least once or twice a week for the 6 sessions or however many you book.
