What do people where for a ‘creative’ job interview these days??

Help! I have an informal interview next week and I haven’t had one for about 20 years 😬

FYI I work in a creative industry and it’s a fairly trendy company.

I’m absolutely certain that it’s not going to be suited and booted, but what the hell do I wear? Need to make a good impression but not look stupid.

Outfit ideas please!

My industry.. depends are you creative or account manage to and what level?? I can help but also is this London or outside?

Hmmmm where do you like to shop normally? I think you need to be yourself but a little bit amplified. I’m not in a creative industry but I would probably wear a modern suit ( high waisted wide leg trousers with a cropped jacket or a more oversized blazer with 7/8th trousers and flat shoes ( with a bit of a platform or chunk to them). You could go for a non traditional colour. I think a wide legged jumpsuit could work or a midi dress with non white trainers and something clashy like a graphic print bag . My
go to would be Cos but I’m
inspired by Acne Studios, Raey, Studio Nicholson and LF Markey.

I like to wear dresses so I’d wear a simple dress. I go for clean lines with plain gold or white gold/silver accessories anyway. I find trousers less flexible - they are either casual or formal on me.

I might do slim above the ankle tailored trousers in a fabric that could pass for dark denim (but isn’t & obviously not a jeans cut) with a nicely cut top.

it’s summer so I think I’d get away with no jacket.

I’d do monochrome - black in my youth, but now navy as it’s my favourite colour to wear at the moment.

I’d try to channel a feminine version of Steve jobs without the jeans. I wouldn’t ever go “artsy” even working in a creative industry.

Thank you all for your ideas!

It’s a senior role, not London. I suspect everyone wears casual to the office so I don’t think I’m going to wear any kind of jacket. I think I’ll honestly look like a prat.

I’ve got some 7/8 trousers (black) that I could wear with flat shoes and a floral top but it’s sleeveless. Not sure if that’s a problem.

For reference I’m a size 6, 5’4’’, small framed. The good thing about being small is that I often look smarter than I am, if that makes sense.

In my creative industry, just a slightly smarter version of what people normally wear (in my case pretty casual dresses), usually.

What is the 'creative' industry. It could mean any number of diverse sectors.

I’m interviewing candidates for a creative role at the moment and everyone has worn something that is a stage above business casual, so smart dresses, shirt and tie, etc. It’s an in house role, though, so they’re dressing more towards the corporate side than the creative side.
