Help get me holiday ready

I need your help! Just booked a family holiday to Greece and leave in 5 weeks! Haven't been on a sunny summer holiday since 2019 and really need to sort myself out to look and feel the best I can. I'd love to lose 7lbs, tighten up my middle (very "relaxed" after 2 DC) and generally look a bit more polished. Planning on all the usual pre-pool/beach treatments -mani/pedi -gel nails, bikini wax, hair trim etc - swithering re; colour/highlights as sun and sea might be too much after bleach?
What do you all do pre-holiday to get in shape and spruce yourself up a bit? Any tips re; products, order to get things done in etc?

All of the above sound great! I also start building a gradual tan using dove lotion! As I am very pale otherwise. Have a great holiday! Off to Spain in a few weeks so definitely place marking.

It sounds like you're on it!

I'm in a similar position and have been doing hiit at lunch and cutting down on carbs, which makes me feel more energetic. I've lost 6lbs in three weeks doing that. (Unwittingly piled on a stone over the past year!)

Have a great holiday!

Glad I'm not the only one. Cutting down on carbs would definitely help as this is what I fill up on. Need more soups and salads to replace the stodge!

@Moonshine86 - gradual/fake tan also great idea. I've been recommended the St Moriz range so will try that sometime soon.
@LetsGoDoDoDo -home exercise and more walking also on the card. Do you follow any particular plan/YouTube channels?

This could be me! I’ve recently bought some Huel products to replace breakfasts and some lunches to lose those 7 pounds. I dusted off the kettlebell and I do this video most days: m.youtube.com/watch?v=tiC0zylTB0w
I am also practicing my fake tan game.

OP have you tried Joe Wicks? I jumped on the body coach bandwagon over lockdown and haven't looked back! He has loads of free content on YouTube for all levels but I've signed up to his app. Also, Caroline Girvan is highly rated, if you're already super fit (I'm building up to CG over the next six months). For yoga I recommend Adriane. I try to get 10,000 steps in each day and (inconsistently) aim to run a couple of times a week. It all helps me stay in shape but I'm certainly no super model 😂

Heading away in a few weeks and I've been trying to cut down on the crap (biscuits after dinner, snacks through the day etc) and up my water intake. I'm walking for an hour each day and trying to add in a morning walk as well where possible. I love the new dermaspa Dove self tan body lotion so will be using that before we go, in the meantime I'm dry-brushing before my shower each morning and using a body moisturiser afterwards. Like you, I'll be getting hair, nails & feet done closer to the time.

@LetsGoDoDoDo I've not done any Jo Wickes since the first lockdown with the kids. I'm definitely not super-fit, more like super-sloth!
@LifeInAHamsterWheel I'm on the daily walks and less crap/smaller portions too. Could you tell me more about the dry body brushing? What do you use, technique, for how long etc? I remember doing it years ago with a loofah pad in circular motions working from extremities towards heart. Is that right? Does it help with appearance of skin or more the texture/smoothness?
@Chocolatecoatedkettlebell Thanks for the tips. I don't have any kettle bells and don't want to buy any at the moment but will keep it in mind for future.

Hi OP I use a round brush with a stubby sort of handle, I've had it for years got it in the body shop. The bristles are quite rough. I start at my feet and brush upwards in long strokes, always towards the heart (that's something I heard many years ago and have done it since!) I sweep up my arms and chest, but avoid the décolletage and neck area (I'm 48 so don't want to make that any worse than it is!)

I find it makes my skin smoother and softer, helps with cellulite too. Also it's invigorating, it's lovely to do before the shower as it helps wake me up!

Thanks @LifeInAHamsterWheel I'll give that a go.
