Your favourite spa (if you have one!)

I realised that it's been many years since I like many others have done something purely for myself so have decided to take myself off and enjoy some peace and quiet.

I love a good massage but I like spas that are quiet, CLEAN! where I don't have to walk through public spaces in a dressing gown, where therapists don't wear heels and where I can't hear the reception.

Spas in the UK really are lacking in regards to creating a serene space, so after my moan has anyone got a spa they can recommend.

Around the Southwest preferably.

I came on to say Nirvana but see others have beat me to it - it’s fabulous!

Is that the one near lip hook? My brother loves spas and it's one of his favourites too

@custardbear thats the one!

Monart in the south east of Ireland is literally incredible .

Aqua Sana spas based at the Center Parcs locations are amazing. I love the choice of steam rooms they have, as well as the relaxation areas

Yes this, Woburn is just lovely

undermilkjug · 26/06/2022 18:56

I like the range of pools at nirvana but really rate the Center parcs spas because they have such a wide range of saunas and steam rooms. Most spas seem to have or two, they have about 15!

Pennyhill is very good if you like lots of different steam and sauna rooms.

undermilkjug · 26/06/2022 18:59

Thanks very much @OompaLoompaa - very interesting!

Daffodil77 · 26/06/2022 21:35

Nirvana is amazing but it was busy on a Saturday when we went.

Senspa is a wonderful spa experience. Personally I think better than Chewton Glen.

I found Champneys in liphook very dated and needed TLC. To be fair, it was 9 years ago that I went there.

SenoritaNaturista · 26/06/2022 21:40

Cowley Manor - C-Side spa between Cirencester and Cheltenham is nice.

stringbean · 26/06/2022 22:37

Another vote for Chewton Glen

pistachioicecream · 27/06/2022 06:58

SenSpa is nice but Pennyhill Park is my favourite. Not southwest though. And a lot more expensive. 😥

BarbaraofSeville · 27/06/2022 07:19

Woodland Spa in Burnley is an amazing spa, it's my favourite of the ones I've been to. I don't remember being annoyed by people who Never Stop Talking (Aqua Sana at Sherwood Center Parcs) or are More Interested in Documenting Their Experience for The Gram (Rudding Park) which is a shame because these two are also great spas.

Another one local to me is Titanic, which people rave about, but that fails your 'not having to walk through public areas in a robe' test and there's not enough hot bubbly water for me, because last time I went it had one tiny hot tub, which was permanently full of Other People.

BarbaraofSeville · 27/06/2022 07:21

Sorry, just seen you want southwest, so my tour of the Spas of Northern England won't be much use to you Smile

RoundaboutRacer · 27/06/2022 07:23

Center Parcs Woburn I really like (not as big of a fan of Elveden)

And Nirvana Spa.

They're quite different to each other, if Nirvana could have a few more steam rooms then it would be perfect.

detectora · 27/06/2022 07:27

Aqua Sana (Longleat)

ivykaty44 · 27/06/2022 07:39

Carden park is good but up north

ByeByeMissAmericanPie · 27/06/2022 07:58

I’d second the Pennyhill Park Spa. It’s fabulous.

I was at PH Park for a family party and stayed one night. Threw in my cozzie as a bit of an afterthought. Made the effort to just ‘go for a quick swim’ the next morning and could barely tear myself away.
Would go back in a heartbeat.

Hoar Cross Hall

WildFlowerBees · 27/06/2022 09:18

I've started a list, thank you!

Surprised there's not more love for Limewood on here. Far and away the best spa experience I've had. Crucially, they limit numbers. When I went to Senspa (Carey's) it was heaving. Limewood was tranquil, clean, excellent food and treatments. Floated out of there, can't wait to go again

Eesha · 04/07/2022 06:02

I second Centre Parcs Aquasana, was so clean!

Dormy House isn't really worth the price.

sageandbasil · 04/07/2022 13:18

Dormy house is beautiful

sageandbasil · 04/07/2022 13:20

Posted this before I'd read the thread. Shocked people aren't rating dormy. Ive been a few times and loved it every visit!

Aurora791 · 04/07/2022 13:31

Ragdale hall in Leicestershire is brilliant!
