QVC vintage jewellery rocketed in value

Back in the 90s my guilty pleasure was QVC jewellery. Aquamarine, amethyst, diamonique. Fast forward three decades last night I was curious to see the prices of second hand jewellery of this era. I found some of my own pieces on eBay and Etsy. One ring I had paid under £50 for is now £650 . I always bought yellow gold but beyond that just picked the ones I loved.

I've suddenly got a few K worth of jewellery. Has anyone else kept their QVC bits

Well if you have a QVC vintage piece it's worth checking out

Are these the prices they're on for or the prices someone's actually paid?

The prices sellers are asking. eBay keeps crashing or our internet is on the Fritz 🙈 will try to screen shot

Have a look at completed listings as that will give you a more accurate view, just because some is asking that price doesn't actually mean it's worth that price.

DirtyteaCup · 21/06/2022 22:19

There are 50p coins on for £200
Nobody buys them (possibly Money laundering)

What are the sold prices?

SpinningRoundRightRound · 21/06/2022 22:22

I was going to say money laundering or a business inflating model. 'Cash on collection'.

dontgobaconmyheart · 22/06/2022 07:47

I'd do an advanced search and look at sold listings for a more accurate glance at what people are actually paying.

You can put anything on ebay at any price you like. I could list a plastic bag for £1000 if I wanted but that doesn't mean it would ever realise that price.

Always good to keep an eye on these things though, if you're happy to sell them.

something is worth what someone is willing to buy for it…I’d check what has been sold. Also like PP said money laundering.

second hand jewellery doesn’t fetch a lot, even diamonds.

BiFoldChampion · 22/06/2022 07:50

*pay for it.

I follow the jewellery specialist auctions it's gone crazy in the last two years.
