Working from home workout ideas

Just curious to hear what workouts you do at home really :) I WFH a couple of times per week and think it would be a good opportunity to squeeze in a 30 min workout during lunch break. What do you do and do you use extra tools?
I go to the gym a couple of times a week (it's all I manage at the moment with DD and full time job) and do pump or combat.

Thanks!

I do loads at home! It's so easy.

I do...
Trampolining, and it stays up the wall out of the way.
Weights for arms
Squats and sit ups, sets of 20 after work tasks
I also collect home workout ideas on pinterest and occasionally do them. I got a few dancers ones and they're really great.

It's good to do stuff at home. The trampolining is so freeing, really good for core and jumping about to house music in the morning for ten minutes really gets you going.

I've wfh for years. I used to to Jillian Michaels workouts, they're pretty good for doing quite a lot in a short time with minimal equipment (just a mat, hand weights, appropriate shoes and bra for high impact). Or devise my own HIIT workouts - same kit plus a tabata timer app.

Nowadays I do 2 zoom Pilates classes per week (plus a lot of walking but that takes a lot longer, I work part time).

We have some other kit that DH uses more than me but I'll use in bad weather - cross trainer and a good rower - but they take a lot of space (garage) and were quite expensive, crap machines are not worth getting.

Pilates. Online, on-demand recorded lessons, just do the amount you have time for then do a cool down. You need very little space and equipment, just a mat, hand weights and resistance bands. Has made a real difference to me, especially back and joint pain. People often ask ask how I get so toned. Little and often.

Suspension trainer and skipping rope. Cardio and resistance, sorted, and takes up no room at all. 30 seconds to set up/put away.

Caroline Girvan is good she has been doing lots of 30 minute workouts recently. I do resistance training classes and bouldering, but chuck in one of her workouts once a week and I’m really enjoy them. Some people follow her programmes, but you can just dip in to cover what you need and there is so much choice all for free.

I do all my exercise from home, I work and have little ones so it isn't time efficient for me to go to the gym.

I do 30mins of some sort of cardio 4 times a week, either I run on my treadmill or I do a cardio workout video on YouTube.

I also do 30mins of weight or strength training 2-3 times a week, I follow fitness blender or heather Robertson for the weight training. I have weights at home, not too heavy, as I can get bulky quite quickly.

I sometimes also do some Pilates and I follow Move with Nicole on YouTube for these.

ArabeI · 22/06/2022 09:08

At home I do Pilates, yoga, at the moment Adrienne yoga (there is a 'Move' thread if you do a search or want me to link). Also do some side plank things and other exercises to help with running.

You might find some more ideas too in other threads if you take a look on the Exercise board, OP, I just noticed this is on S&B.

I recently bought a VR headset and I've never enjoyed exercise so much! I do Les Mills Body Combat and love it...spend 30-40 minutes each day punching and kicking flying objects. Headset was £300 and the game was £24.99 but it's paid for itself over and over already!

MayMi · 22/06/2022 10:17

Chloé Ting workout videos on youtube 🙌🏻

WalkingOnSonshine · 22/06/2022 10:25

I have a step to do light cardio and then I use the FIIT app through Sky.

Ooh that's exciting - I didn't know this existed!

I bought a step and put it out so it's in my way and I use it intermittently for a 5-10 minute burst of activity. I've even used it whilst on a webinars or waiting for the kettle to boil. It's good because step routines are easy to remember so I don't have to use anything else to just get on with it.

Purpleavocado · 23/06/2022 15:39

Currently doing Sydney Cumming Summertime fine 3.0 on YouTube.
From personal experience, the only thing that works for me is getting up early and doing it first thing. If I said I was going to do it lunchtime, or when I finish, I'd find an excuse not to do it - eg getting sweaty, not having the time etc.

atomicnotsoblonde · 23/06/2022 19:49

I do the free 20 joe wicks HIIT sessions. There's loads to pick from

Dancingonmyownagain · 23/06/2022 20:05
