Has anyone had profhilo?

I've been reading up on profhilo and it sounds bloody amazing!

I actually don't know anyone who has had it, but would like to hear some experiences.

I'd ideally like to know more about the results, level of discomfort during treatment and any side effects after.

Thank you ❤️

Hi

I have had profhilo injected (face) every 3 months for the past year (first time had two injections 4 weeks apart). The results are great - dewy, glowing skin. People have commented on how great my skin is looking and I tell them lots of sleep and good moisturiser Grin. Unlike filler/botox, you really can't tell what has been done.

I do find treatment quite painful (each injection is a bit like a mini bee sting) but it is over very quickly. I do get little bumps from some of the injections but they are gone the next day (just don't arrange anything straight afterwards).

Apart from wearing off fairly quickly and the cost, it's a no brainer in my view. If money was no object, I would also use for neck, hands and decolletage.

MissStarry · 13/06/2022 14:17

@Stoic123 out of interest why do you have a treatment every 3 months? I thought the results (after the first 2 treatments 4 weeks apart), were meant to last c.6m with the expectation being that it can have a more lasting effect - although that apparently differs, but I thought the consensus was every 6m as standard to really keep on top of it?

Are you having double doses/twice as often as normal? If you are, you could always mix it up to alternating with a different area if the current cost of it every 3m is affordable?

NorthernPlights · 13/06/2022 14:22

I am booked in for a consultation on Thursday, for my neck and decolletage, so I can report back at some point.
It's not too bad yet but the fine lines are definitely visible, especially in the morning, and I want to stave them off as long as possible.

Stoic123 · 13/06/2022 14:38

@MissStarry- I like to keep topped up. It's probably more like 3-4 months gap that I have it done and it has definitely worn off quite a bit in that time. Will be different for others - I'm sure 6 months will work for most.

Northernlass99 · 13/06/2022 20:17

I had this recently. Didnt make that much difference for me. Wouldnt bother again.

deedledeedledum · 13/06/2022 21:51

@MissStarry the Profhilo people used to say 6 months but they concede it is more like 4 months now. The immediate glow is incredible. I'm on the fence with regards to if it actually stimulates any extra collagen long term. I find about 2 weeks after treatment I get the most incredible glow. People comment type glow. That lasts 2-3 weeks then fades off. I religiously get it done every 4 months. Face and neck. Costs a bomb but I'm committing to it fir the time being

Aworldofmyown · 13/06/2022 22:15

I've had it, a great treatment but not worth the cost for me (£700 for the two treatments 4 weeks apart). I think it would have more noticeable effects on older skin ( over 50 maybe)
It wasn't too painful and I just had lumps at the injection sites for a few days.

Delatron · 13/06/2022 22:30

It’s interesting about the frequency.

I had the 2 treatments then I thought I could do a once every 6 months maintenance. They said at the last visit it needs to be more like 3-4 months so I do think it wears off quicker than they initially said. So then you’re looking at £375 every 3-4 months which is pretty expensive.

It’s very subtle and I have heard mixed reviews. I’ll keep having it as I do think it’s doing something! It’s one of those that if you had all the money in the world then you could justify it more.

I find it very stingy. I’m changing doctors to one that uses numbing cream next time.

CP2701 · 14/06/2022 01:30

I'm on the fence with it. The clinic that does it near me charges 360 for the two treatments, £200 for one. Suppose it depends where you live as to cost etc.

I've had botox there a few times but I'm finding I want to treat my whole face but I don't want fillers.

Profhilo looks good but I'm worried about spending lots of money for a very subtle difference. I'm £260 for my botox every 4 months at the minute anyway, so after my initial double treatment of profhilo, it works out sightly cheaper.

The clinic also has other skin booster injections but I think profhilo seems the best one.

For me it was a total waste of money.

MissStarry · 14/06/2022 09:38

Aah okay thanks @Stoic123 and @deedledeedledum

Yes that is interesting- I’m really tempted snd it’s been on my list for a while (already have baby Botox and tear trough filler), but needing it that frequently is a bit off-putting unless there was a big event or events. Is that also the same for the neck area?

I generally have pretty good skin, so my aesthetician has recommended NCTF for the under eye area instead of profhilo, so this thread is interesting as trying to decide which (if any) to go for (being honest I’ll try them both at some point 😂 just which to do first for maximum ROI)

Spaceprincess · 14/06/2022 13:06

My friend does my facial aesthetics.
I fancied having Profilo, she said it didn't make much difference to her own skin, and people either raved about it or thought it did very little.
She reccomended a salmon dna thing for under eyes instead but im yet to go for it.

OwlBarn · 14/06/2022 14:31

How does it work and what does it do?

Is is like botox where you can have it and stop and it makes little difference in the sense that if you stop botox you just look like you did look before?

Or it is more like fillers where once you start, you can't really stop because you can really tell. Not sure why that is but maybe the skin is microscopically stretched. If you had fillers and then stop, you look worse than you would do if you'd never had them.

Which of these is profhilo closer to?

Does it fill out wrinkles?

If you have fillers used carefully you shouldn't cause stretching. If for example your lips have lost fullness and you replace some of it, then you will just be filling some of the space that is currently baggy. If on the other hand you use fillers to create new fullness that wasn't ever there and there is no sagging skin to fill them yes, stretching and long term loose skin can be an issue. That's what I fear for young women who go the whole trout pout

MissStarry · 14/06/2022 15:53

From what I understand/researched, profhilo isn’t for wrinkles as such, it’s pure hylauronic acid which is good for skin texture & quality, plumping and smoothing and like you’re wearing an amazing new foundation but actually bare-faced, but not like either Botox or fillers which have their own specific uses.

You can buy numbing cream otc and apply it about an hour before.

Imabouttoexplode · 14/06/2022 15:56

I found profhilo incredibly painful and it made absolutely no difference whatsoever.

Delatron · 14/06/2022 16:35

I found it did make a difference to the point of people commenting. But I’ve had it a total of 6 times so I think it takes a while to see a long term improvement.

I also read the depth of injections are really important. If it’s injected at the wrong depth you’ll see nothing.

I’m going to plough on with it for now..
Skin looks plumper (without changing shape of face) and skin better quality.

I’ve just started Botox again so hoping this combo can get me through another few years as I can’t decide about filler. Though I did have tear trough ones a few years ago and liked the results.

Delatron · 14/06/2022 16:36

Thanks for the tip @Imabouttoexplode I’ll do that!

Roundbale · 27/04/2025 18:34

Slightly different. Not much.. 2 injections.. maybe a bit .I could just be deluded

Same as most of these non surgical treatments. They cost a lot, often painful, little discernible difference, need time consuming maintenance top ups, have unpleasant down time. If they don’t work, or make much difference you don’t get offered discount or another treatment It’s a bottomless money pit.
Speaking from experience.
The only thing I found to make a good difference was a little filler to naso labial and marionette lines.
Wouldn't contemplate Botox, don’t want bunny lines, droopy brows etc which I’ve seen on others. Fortunately have no 11s, and fringe covers forehead! Not very wrinkled, fortunately!
Have a LED mask which has had a better result than other treatments I've had.
