Help!

I have been given some hospitality tickets but have no idea what to wear. I have never been before.
I will probably camp.
I am 44 and size 14 and 5 foot 9 so too old and fat for Daisy Dukes and wellies. Smile
Looking for something vaguely cool despite being middle aged and not sticklike.
Thanks

The weather forecast looks promising.... but would pack a waterproof obviously.

Pretty much anything goes - wear what you'll be comfy in!
Floaty summer dresses with boots or trainers, jumpsuits, jeans and tees...

Just don't wear anything you're really fond of in case it gets ruined.
Ditto for nice white trainers - wear an old pair.

A bum bag of sorts, or cross body bag is pretty essential.

You'll have a fab time!

There's no other option but to camp or glamp.
You need to be prepared to walk 10 miles a day - it's big!
DH says whatever is comfortable. Probably don't take anything that you mind being nicked but he thinks crime levels lower than many festivals.
Totally weather dependent. Too hot in performance tents in heat at times and crowd has been sprayed with a hose due to heat at times. Also could be cold or rainy obviously.
Age-wise you'll be fine - it's not a young festival
I really don't think it matters what you wear as long as it allows you to make the most of the festival

For goodness sake not a Jumpsuit! You don't want to be wrestling with that in the loo!
I would go with dress over shorts if hot or leggings if cold.
You need wellies, unless it's incredibly dry mud is inevitable. Hat and sunglasses.

Bobbybobbins · 12/06/2022 17:53

Flat comfy shoes or boots that you don't mind getting mucky. Layers so you can warm up or cool down easily. Anything goes fashion wise as it's so diverse.

Face wipes and dry shampoo can be useful.

Dresses, shorts underneath and solid footwear that doesn't rub. Fleece and waterproofs just in case. I wouldn't wear dresses more than 3/4 length in case it's muddy.

Firstly, OP, lucky you! I hope you have a fantastic time. Here's what I take when I go (I'm in my early 50s BTW):
Wellies - the fields are heavy clay so when it rains, the muddy areas can get really muddy. And, as its a wide shallow valley, storms tend to bounce around the hills before they disappear.
Take good socks and walking shoes. The site is huge and you'll be on your feet all day.
A rainmac - the best kind are the long cape ones because you can sit on it (after rain when the mud is drying out) or cover up summer shorts or copious layers and a warm jacket.
Toilet roll!!
Wipes - baby and alcohol for washing your self and cleaning hands (don't mix them up. Lol)
Layers - it might be hot during the day but I guarantee you'll likely be shivering at sundown
Suncream - there is very little shade.
On clothes - I always end up taking more than I need. Tsk. But take things you can slip warm tights under so a summer dress or shorts can double up as warmer evening wear.
Anything you forget, you can buy there. It's a veritable city.
Finally, not all toilets are created equal. Some are better than others, you'll work it out. Enjoy!

Thank you everyone!
I believe there are showers and better toilets in hospitality camping area?
I might go for dress and shorts then.

You need to go for practicality and comfort. Layers for changeable weather. Minimal fastenings and yes, DO NOT WEAR A JUMPSUIT

i also find shorts awks in a rank portaloo as you have to kind of hold them up to stop them falling to the floor whilst balancing and all the while not breathing

They might be better...but they might not. My mate (always backstage) was moaning that the loos were worse in hospital than out front. Mad. Maybe it was a bad year. Don't get hung up on the loos though - they are legion and are cleaned very regularly. I wouldn't personally go near a portaloo myself, the long drops are fine - and if I really want spoil myself and I'm in the vicinity. I'll use the flushing loos right by the farm!

The toilets are still the compost ones....and the showers will be solar...so not hot hot....and quite cold if its cool....I wear shorts then carry leggings to wearvunder the shorts at night....even if its being boiling all day...as soon as the sun goes down its freezing ...I just wear old converse ....enjoy
