Ladies, I really need your help in finding a good shop/ brands that are really good in quality clothes, clothes that doesn’t not bobble and loose shape.
I just cleared out my wardrobe and I am shocked of how much of my garments are shapeless and full of bobbles. My attitude towards clothes is to buy when I needed never been into fast fashion but I am struggle to find a shop/ brand that will suit me and the prices are relatively reasonable. I like the quality of hobbs and phase eight but their clothes are more work related. My style is smart casual and a bit of chic.
I will appreciate if you have found any little gems shops that you're happy with quality ( tkmaxx and charity shop are out of question as I do not have time to shop around , busy mum :()
Thank you very much in advance

Following as would love the answer to this question!

I like John Lewis own brands

Tiddlywinkly · 29/05/2022 22:04

Sezane? Just pay attention to the material contents of each item. Most are good value, but you get the odd polyester blouse which I wouldn't buy.

I really like the quality of COS

For knitwear, Woolovers are very good, almost always natural fabrics/yarns, and in a wider range of colours than you get in shops. Reasonable prices. Sizes on the large side.

I like Cos too. I've also found a few good basics at M&S this year, surprisingly (lightweight merino wool sweaters and jeans). But mainly I look for more expensive brands and quality items in lightly worn condition on eBay - recent purchases include a top from Toast, a winter coat from Damsel in a Dress and a cashmere jumper for the price of an acrylic one from H&M. I have searches set up and saved for particular items I'm looking for so not as time-consuming as charity shopping.

I rate Uniqlo and Muji clothes as good quality casuals at a lowish price.

It very much depends on your aesthetic. I like the quality of Cos, Toast, Kin (John Lewis), Seasalt, Massimo Dutti. But I select carefully and ignore the shop styling as much as possibly. I order online and try on at home to avoid snap decisions.

Also a cos fan. I think if you can wait until the sales and stock up on really good quality items then, you’ll do well.

Cos is great

HumourReplacementTherapy · 30/05/2022 14:27

Yes I agree Cos is great but can be difficult to wear if you're short. I'm 5ft 4 and have a few things but quite a bit drowns me.
Sézane- beautiful quality. Love their knitwear/belts/dresses Ed/jewellery well all of it really.
H&M premium is worth a look for jeans cashmere and silk.
Hush (but not their T's) Mn love to hate but I have loads of stuff from hush that has lasted years
Massimo dutti (although not really my lifestyle)
Boden/joules/seasalt but again not really my style/lifestyle but all do good quality basics if you need them.
Mint velvet -great for jeans/shirts and nice jewellery and bags.

HumourReplacementTherapy · 30/05/2022 14:28

Oh yes. Toast out of my price range and mostly not the right shape for me but looks fab on others.

YouHaveNoAuthorityHereJackie · 30/05/2022 14:33

I really rate Toast. Out of my price range really so almost exclusively buying from Ebay. The quality really holds up to being bought second hand. Agree with Cos in this respect too. I’m trying to be more careful about what I buy, not necessarily budget wise but I’m fed up of having a wardrobe full of clothes but having that ‘nothing to wear’ feeling so often. I’m slowly getting together a collection of better quality clothes that all fit, in good shapes and colours for me rather than trying to follow trends. I’ve been more aware in recent years of just how much nicer natural fabrics are to wear too. In my younger days I’d put up with overpriced polyester. No more.

daretodenim · 30/05/2022 15:44

I am less impressed with Cos recently. The last woollen jumper I bought there bobbled quickly. I have various bobble trimmer things and always hold off before using them but the jumper basically bobbles after every use. And worse, it's on the boobs mainly!! I am always very careful with fabrics but I basically have to wear this with no coat on top and never move my arms to prevent the bobbling. Quite disappointing!
