Any tips on not missing bits!! I'm definitely seeing a slow in growth under my arm pits and I think my legs too but I'm just struggling to know where to zap without missing bits!!

@Fedupsotired No tips but interested to hear how you like it?

LynneBenfield · 29/05/2022 17:57

I love mine, I’ve been using one for about 5yrs now. I just go over everywhere once every 3-4 months, rather than looking for bits I’ve missed.

When I did the initial 12 weeks weekly zappings, I just did the same. Zapped everything. I probably overlapped a couple of bits by a mm or two but I didn’t suffer any ill effects.

NiqueNique · 29/05/2022 17:59

I do it very methodically; on my legs for example I basically start at the top and work my way down then back up, then down again and so on over and over whilst moving around my legs, in small increments to match the size of the window. Same for any other area like my bikini area or underarm - just start at one end, work my way up and down and over until I get to the other end.

As for how well it works, it’s been absolutely brilliant for me. I haven’t done my maintenance for about a year now as I can’t be bothered and I still have hardly any regrowth.

NiqueNique · 29/05/2022 18:00

Oh yes I just do the entire area each time.

ElspethBoomingHowsen · 29/05/2022 18:05

Are these really this good? Im
so tempted as im just so sick of shaving! I have dark hair and im very hairy from toes to waist and I just hate it! Willing to pay if they are that good? Which model?

Charlottemh · 29/05/2022 18:57

Yes it is so good! I bought mine about ten years ago, used it a few times in the first year and now I hardly have any hair. I only use it like once a year now. I used to have such thick dark hair, even after shaving my legs there’d be a 5 o clock shadow. Now I can get away without shaving for weeks! Best money I ever spent (and no I don’t work for them lol)

Fedupsotired · 29/05/2022 19:05

I just can't see how if you do a strip up you can go down again next to it without massively overlapping or missing a bit! I try and be systematic but it's just a bit rubbish you can see where you've been!

I do like it and think it's working but just a bit of a pain to do it properly

When I started using mines I used to draw stripes on my legs with white eyeliner and do that but only for the first few times. Now I’ve been using it for about ten years I just have the odd ‘flash’ when my legs get stubbly.

@Flaunch brilliant idea!!!

I first got mine about 6 years ago and for the first months used it every week and used a white eyeliner to mark areas on my legs. Now 6 years later I use it about once a year just on the odd hair. Still get the odd hair in my pits and on my bikini line but so much better than shaving and waxing. When I first one gave. Up the ghost I bought a new one the same day!

Doofas · 29/05/2022 19:08

I had one s couple of years ago, might have been an own brand one though, I wasn't so impressed. Took ages to get round both of my large legs and then they were still quite hairy! To avoid missing bits i used to use an eyeliner, or dinner such washable own suitable for skin, to draw lines down my legs the width apart of the head of the machine and line it up with the line as I went down my legs.

That’s why you work your way up and down alternately - you follow the line all the way down, then you move the wand (I think it’s called?) one inch (or whatever) over from where it was just positioned, and work your way up. Then at the top you move it one inch (or whatever) over from where it was and continue downwards. You also allow for curvature etc by shifting slightly. But maybe I just ‘see’ it more easily - I’m quite good with lines and measurements and can do it accurately by eye so I guess that helps in knowing what ‘line’ to stick to on my leg.

ElspethBoomingHowsen · 29/05/2022 20:01

Im going to order one now!

Fedupsotired · 29/05/2022 20:12

@NiqueNique but you've only got to be a mm out and you'll end up overlapping or missing, you could be more out by the time you get to the end. I go up and down but as you can't see it then you aren't sure you've moved correctly!!

I may just be rubbish at visualising 🤣. I'm going to really concentrate next time!

OP posts:
NiqueNique · 29/05/2022 21:14

I overlap sometimes, to be sure I’ve covered everything. That’s what I meant by shifting it a little. At the curvature of my calf, for example, when I’m filling in the ‘v’ spaces between the ‘lines’. It’s not that easy to explain which is probably why you can’t visualise it! But it’s always worked for me and I never end up with patches of hair growing so I guess it works (for me, at least!); I do deliberately err on the side of possibly overlapping a little bit here and there because I’ve not got sensitive skin and I’m not worried about damage.

Fedupsotired · 29/05/2022 22:27

Maybe I need to be less cautious and overlap!!
Thanks for the tips

OP posts:
NiqueNique · 29/05/2022 22:58

I don’t want to recommend you do that - it’s a matter of each individual to make that choice. like I said I’m pretty good at knowing where I’ve a
ready been, so I don’t think I actually overlap often! It’s really hard to explain the technique I use but it seems to work well.

Fedupsotired · 30/05/2022 15:05

@NiqueNique honestly I won't hold you responsible!! Just mean I won't be quite so panicked if I overlap by a couple of mm

OP posts:
StiltonIsLife · 30/05/2022 20:53

What's the problem with overlapping?

NiqueNique · 30/05/2022 22:20

I don’t think there’s any huge problem with a little bit of overlapping here and there but iirc depending on one’s skin type repeated consecutive zapping of the same area isn’t recommended as can potentially result in burns/irritation/damage to the skin (at least in theory). It’s been a long time since I’ve read the instructions/warning so I can’t recall details.
