Hello Sunday sunscreen piling

Bought the factor 50 moisturiser sun screen from Beauty Bay.
It pills up. Have tried it a few times with same result.
Does this mean the sun protection on it isn't working? So it's not really doing what it's supposed to do?

Beauty bay won't accept return. Should I approach the manufacturer?

If it's piling it logically follows that the amount of product you are applying is not staying on your face as it is balling up and you (presumably) are sweeping away these balls - therefore the sun protection may not be as complete due to a thinner layer/gaps in the application.

That being said it may not be a fault in the product. I find piling is often due to an incompatibility between skin care, sun protection, and/or base makeup. I think I saw someone one say once they should all be the same base (water or oil) to work together seamless. On other occasions I get piling if I work SPF into the skin excessively, once spread evenly and white colour has gone just leave it. Also I find that not allowing enough time for my moisturiser to fully settle in can cause problems.

Thanks for that! I will look into all of that cos its £20.00 i can't afford to throw away and it got loafs of good reviews

And I am confused about when to stop rubbing the product. Till it has "disappeared"? Or as you say, still able to see the product on your skin

It means it's full of silicones. Try patting it onto the skin. It's probably clashing with your moisturizer or any serum you use beforehand- many of which are -cone heavy.

So if one of the principal ingredients on the list is silicone then that's what the major component and I ought to use it with a silicone based primer serum moisturizer

My friend had this. She said to put on the mKeup before the product as fully set helps to avoid it.

I've previously used it and never had a problem with piling.
