Lines on forehead

Lottie2shoes · 26/05/2022 12:00

Hi. I've hit my 30s and I guess I frown/ laugh alot as I have started to develop fine lines.
The main one are around my eyes but the ones that bug me the most are my forehead ones as those are particularly aging.
Anyone recommend anything to get rid of them?
Non surgical please, purely skincare and cosmetics.
Thanks in advance

Up your water intake. Hydrated skin looks less crinkly.

And then look into prescription tretinoin (from Skin & Me or Dermatica) and a daily spf.

Also, I know someone who uses Frownies on her forehead every night and swears by them for warding off wrinkles. I've never tried them personally though.

Definitely tretinoin- I use Dermatica. Though I started on over the counter retinol and built up from there.

I know you didnt want "surgical" but botox has changed the game for me, I had never considered it and actually thought it was ridiculous until the dreaded lines made their way to my own face. Unfortunately I think once you have the lines its too late, prevention is key. Im 33 by the way.

maddy68 · 26/05/2022 14:09

Botox. I love it

declutteringmymind · 26/05/2022 14:20

Botox

Lottie2shoes · 26/05/2022 14:28

@addictedtotheflats Yes, that is what I'm worried about now, that they are irreversible.
I was blessed with good skin and I took it for granted by not looking after it at all.
The last year or 2, It has started going downhill now. Do not know whether to accept the inevitable, that I am getting older or to do something about it.

I third Botox! I’m 40 and started preventative Botox at 34.

Lottie2shoes · 26/05/2022 14:30

To those that swear by botox, I always said I would like to age naturally ( but now that I am here, I can see myself faltering)😫

I am 50 and have zero lines. No Botox, only tretinoin.

Try the tretinoin for a few months first.

Lots of people with bad botox swear by botox.

TinaYouFatLard · 26/05/2022 15:02

Is it really too late once the lines have set in?

krill · 26/05/2022 15:09

Somebody mid thirties posted with deep forehead wrinkles recently. The botox diminished them but didn't get rid of them entirely. I recommended argireline but t professional micro needling might also help. Forehead filler, temples, another suggestion. Go to a proper medical professional for this.

Retin A might help eventually or at least prevent it getting worse.

krill · 26/05/2022 15:10

Retin A being Tretinoin

krill · 26/05/2022 15:11

They're probably not as bad as you think? I see lots of people over 30 with forehead lines, especially 11s. I don't think of it as particularly ageing.

Ithinkitsadoughnut · 26/05/2022 15:32

Stick a small plaster on before bed. I kid you not. It stops you frowning in your sleep and takes you out of the habit of frowning. I want to age naturally but found those lines just made me look permanently moody. This definitely helped. Mine are massively reduced and I am older. Yours will probably disappear

addictedtotheflats · 26/05/2022 18:22

@Lottie2shoes just do it! Why do we have to accept wrinkles in our 30's! There are so many misconceptions about botox like frozen and expresionless faces but find a good practitioner and you will never look back.

ImInStealthMode · 26/05/2022 18:35

Hi Op, I felt the same as you about 3 months ago, but with our wedding steaming closer I wanted to look my best so took the plunge and went for Botox and it's made the world of difference.

Before and after pics on this thread;

Tell me about Botox? http://www.mumsnet.com/Talk/styleandd_beauty/4509948-tell-me-about-botox

Lottie2shoes · 26/05/2022 22:30

@Ithinkitsadoughnut Definitely will try that, see if it makes a difference.

@ImInStealthMode Just read your thread. Botox worked really well for you.

One thing I'm afraid of is going down the rabbit hole where I would want more and more things done and it is a pretty expensive habit to have.
They are thankfully not that deep set yet so I would probably try other things.
( Then when I am desperate and nothing else works, I will come back to that!)

OP posts:
Lottie2shoes · 26/05/2022 22:37

@addictedtotheflats I probably will when nothing else seems to work! At the moment I am a little hopeful there is something out there.

DailySheetWasher · 26/05/2022 22:37

If all else fails, get a fringe cut in!

Lottie2shoes · 26/05/2022 22:40

@DailySheetWasher 😂
Might just have to!

Iminstealthmode is the mid 30s poster's thread I was talking about. The Botox did a great job, but didn't get rid of the lines entirely, but there are other things to try in addition.
