I haven't travelled in 2 years with work and going away and have no clue what to wear.
Got a couple of first print high back dresses I could wheel out but what are we wearing for smarter work meetings (but not suit/ heels smart) these days? On my office days I've been trousers and blouse (yawn)
I also need some loafers/ brogues. Someone posted a tk maxx link weeks ago and I lost it but they'd been touted as v comfy which is a must for sprinting across airports and train stations

What’s the industry (might help with style) and your budget?

I’m in a similar situation that after 2 years of basically dressing from the waist up i now need full outfits! I’ve found some nice new jumpsuits in Whistles and Oliver Bonas but they might not work for your office/meetings.

whatever is on top, I’m aiming to stick with my trainers on my feet!

M&S loafers are very comfortable - maybe not the most stylish, but good for walking a good distance in.

Workwear is a struggle at the moment. No where seems to sell it. Articles suggesting workwear all work on the basis that jeans are ok.

I've been wearing wide leg trousers, blouse/thin jumper with a non-matching blazer, but not sure it's anywhere near stylish. I'll be watching out for any better suggestions.

I just bought some clarks Hamble loafers and they're really comfy. Amazon sells them with free returns. I've also bought sandals with block heels and lowish wedges with a peep toe.

Most people seem to wear dresses with flats in my office.

The visit is to a manufacturing facility so not really glam. I'd have gone with trousers and blouse and low heels before but said trousers don't fit and looked horrible when j tried them on ! Dress is a safe option with tights and flat patent (but very tired) loafers I guess. Though it might be warm so I'm worrying about peri melting too ! Wide legged trousers might be ok but I'm short - 5'2 - anyone bought any nice ones? Office still tends to be jeans but if meetings (internal) , then we may ramp up to smarter jeans and blouse but still hire casual

Try Hobbs petite for trousers

In my industry it's dresses with white trainers, loafers or boots.

I know the feeling! I've got an on site interview assessment day and I only dress from the waist up 😂

I've ordered some black dresses from H&M and a nice shirt dress from Esprit.

Shoes - I've ordered some t bar shoes from Clarks Outlet (Taylor Palm), they have 20% off adult styles at the mo.

I'm short so find trousers challenging too - M&S had some nice wide leg ones for £25 - they do short and very short leg too.

I think the dress option you suggest is the best one.
