Please help! Workwear issue

Starting a new job. Dress code stipulates muted colours, no strong patterns. Business wear, no open toed shoes, jacket required.

My current work wardrobe is heavily centred around florals, fruit etc. and wedges/sandals.

I live in a hot humid country. Jacket and closed toe shoes means I will need yo have the AC on in the office, but lighter materials better. I love bright colours and am finding the take of boring office wear in muted colours really tedious.

Going to UK and will do my shopping there, but I don't have much time for shopping, so delivery would be better.

Thank you for your help.

What help are you looking for?

MerrilyMerrilyMerrilyMerrilyLifeIsButADream · 22/05/2022 13:59

Suggestions as yo what I can buy and from where:

Lightweight blazer
Dresses that are fairly smart, muted but not too hot
Comfortable, smart shoes that aren't hot

Thanks

Congratulations on your new job OP!

May I ask - have you chosen one neutral colour to base your basic outfits pieces on? What colour suits you? I think this would be your best starting point...

Uniqlo are good for the kind of clothes I think you might be describing?

MerrilyMerrilyMerrilyMerrilyLifeIsButADream · 22/05/2022 14:46

Thank you.

Uniqlo are a great shout as they are here so I would be able to look and try on not squeeze into the UK holiday.

Navy as a base colour is better than black for me.

I’d get a nice navy suit from French connection and then play with accessories

LapinR0se · 22/05/2022 14:52

Also jigsaw. I had two suits from there and they were beautifully cut

M&S do international deliveries and have a clear list of countries and charges

Thanks. There's M&S here but I'm not inspired.

New look had some lightweight blazers in - I have similar versions in navy/red and really rare them. Unfortunately I can't find them online, but worth trying to trek them down if you can

I find Jigsaw the best for exactly this kind of thing. The quality is really lovely too. I like their suiting and trousers and especially the silk tops that are in a more t-shirt shape (some have silk fronts and t-shirt material backs, so they are extremely comfortable).
