Make up overhaul

Over the last couple of years, I have gone significantly lighter in my hair colour in an attempt to blend the grey. I'm happy with the hair colour itself but conscious that my make up doesn't look quite right now as my colouring has sort of changed. Also, I feel like my face / eye shape has changed with age too. And yet, here I am, still wearing the same make up I wore 15 years ago.

I'd like to book for a bit of a makeup overhaul but not sure which brand / place would be the best for this. Any suggestions welcome. I'm in the SW if that helps.

I really like Bobbi Brown for this kind of thing, I have booked a few appointments myself over the years and also taken my Mum once when she wanted a similar sort of overhaul. I generally find the people who work there have a decent level of training in artistry (not just sales) and are good at helping you create everyday looks so you just look a bit more polished and refreshed.

Yes that's just what ai'm looking for. Annoyingly, our local Bobbi Brown just closed 😡
Will find out the next closest one.

I would recommend the Clinique counter in your local department store (or Boots) or Boots No 7. I find the women on the counter helpful and knowledgeable and keen to improve your look.

What about a local beauty salon? My sister is a beauty therapist and does wedding make up etc. You might find that they're less about the sales for any particular brand, and might be able to talk about things like eyebrow tinting as well if you're interested.

If you can make trip to London - I had a make over at Selfridges which I highly recommend as they use multiple brands from across the store.

I had same issue as had gone grey, they mainly used same colours I always used but softened the look slightly and encouraged me to use stronger lip colours.

These are all good suggestions. I also really like Trinny London makeup and think the colours and formulas are extremely flattering and good for the scenarios you're describing. I think Trinny does a few videos for softening your make up look.

All really helpful suggestions, thank you. Has anyone any experience of Charlotte Tilbury for this?
