She makes a mould and then gives you 2-3 tubes of some paste? Doesn’t seem a service in need of such expensive and long training and such a high fee - any other ways of doing this?

I bought a kit on Amazon for about £30. Two flexible moulds, syringes of gel and a UV light thing. I did it for 10 days and it was surprisingly effective.

I love my dentist but I already spend so much on my dental care that I struggled to justify the extra money on an non-essential vanity project.

oooooo Wouldn't recommend doing this!

I wouldn't recommend this either. We are talking prescriptive chemicals that are placed inside a part of your body. That's potentially dangerous.
It's a bit like saying:
"I bought a kit on Amazon for about £30. Two syringes of AstraZeneca and an alcohol swab. . I did the injection 10 days apart and it was surprisingly effective."

I hear you (I'm quite cautious by nature) but I did a fair bit of research first and picked a reputable option. However, I agree that you're taking more of a risk and there's merit in paying to have it done at your dentist.
