I have Combination skin and am aged 47. Which night face creams can you recommend? I'm currently using Immortelle by l'Occitaine but it is too expensive at £80. Looking for something amazing yet slightly cheaper.

I’m a Nivea girl, I’ve tried expensive creams over the years Elemis, Clinique etc. I just can’t fault it. I also use Jason ester C hyper C serum, it smells gorgeous, really orangey. My daughter now swears by Nivea as well and she has acne prone skin.

I like boots protect and perfect intense advanced. I have tried a ton including immortelle and keep repurchasing boots one. It is moisturising but not greasy or heavy. Marks absolute sleep cream was very nice too and seems well rated.

Don't want to de-rail your thread OP, but The L'Occitane cream you're currently using is the one I'm thinking of buying. Aside from the price how do you like it?

SilverOtter · 19/05/2022 03:20

Repose by Temple Spa. It just smells divine!

LetitiaLeghorn · 19/05/2022 03:28

At the moment I'm using a moisturiser from Beauty Pie. But I also like ELFs Holy hydration moisturiser. And under it I wear Hada labo hyaluronic acid serum. I want to try their night cream as well.

florianfortescue · 19/05/2022 04:22

I like Drunk Elephant La La Retro Whipped Cream.

catwomando · 19/05/2022 04:39

I use the no7 intense stuff -including the serums. Regularly get told I look much younger than I am Blush. Makes my skin feel good and isn't greasy.

I think that which or someone (panorama?) did tests a few years back and found it to be the best and actually works.

They regularly do offers and it's much cheaper that pan £80 a pop.

PAFMO · 19/05/2022 06:17

If you want a decent, cheap as chips night cream that just does what a cream is intended for (hydration) then Nivea, Olay, L'Oreal, etc are great. I like Nivea Q10. It's about a fiver.

Going up the price scale the N7 ranges are very good. N7 have lots of R&D behind them so are pretty cutting edge. At 47 you're into Lift & Luminate (I'm currently using it after a few years break and I love it)

I've used ££££ moisturizer. L'Occitane Divine etc. Yes, I love it. Did it make me look immortal and divine? No. It made my skin look hydrated.

Moisturizer is (along with cleanser) the thing you don't need to spend on. Ingredients found particularly in targeted serums are where to spend if you want to, but these days, tbh, that's not really necessary either. Vit C, retinol etc.

Signoramarella · 19/05/2022 06:21

Beauty pie overnight skin protector serum..absolutely amazing!!!!

Mirrorball2022 · 19/05/2022 06:22

I used aldi q10! I used to use Nivea and play previously before I discovered aldis face creams. Cheap and do the job of hydrating my skin: couldn’t afford £80 even if I wanted to! Also drink water load which i think helps

I should add I use serums too like retinol, vit c, hylaronic acid etc. Not all at once obviously. Also lots of water. I don’t think my skin is too bad for a 42 year old.

wondabar · 19/05/2022 08:02

Thank you for all your responses. I will go and try some of them out at Boots. @IEatChocolateForBreakfast I do love the Occitane one and would carry on using it if it wasn't for the price. It is non greasy, yet I still feel well moisturised the next morning. And the smell is just divine. The only negative for me is the price tag!

I've been using the Aldi Caviar night cream, along with a retinol serum. Seems to be working OK and only £6.99 so cheap as chips.
For daytime I use a vit c serum and then either Altruist or Frezyderm velvet (both F50.)

dolphinsarentcommon · 19/05/2022 08:18

I've just started with the Aldi caviar day cream and will buy the night cream when I need to.

Seems fine to me

I love Medik8. They make it easy with their routines too. British brand, pharma driven.

DaleTrimont · 19/05/2022 08:44

The Marks and Spencer absolute sleep cream mentioned above is great.

BlueBloodedBlue · 19/05/2022 08:59

I love the M&S Formula nighttime sleep cream. Only about £22 so maybe worth a try.

EufyProsser · 19/05/2022 09:06

I was going to suggest Absolute Sleep Cream too - it's really good. I think I remember reading a beauty journalist hinting that it was made in the same place as 'an expensive Swiss brand', whatever that means.

SHealy · 19/05/2022 09:08

Have you been onto BeautyPie, its a fabulous website with high end products without the price tag and the service and guidance is excellent, I am thrilled with the products skincare and makeup, their perfume is stunning

SpaghettiNotCourgetti · 19/05/2022 09:12

Another one for the M&S Formula Absolute Sleep Cream. I swear it is all that keeps my face together some days.

ElenaSt · 19/05/2022 09:23

Your Good Skin is on sale in Boots at the moment. It's made by No 7 and their serum is good so you could have a look at the night cream. I've just placed an order for some things from that range.

Iamnotamermaid · 19/05/2022 09:24

Evolve 360 cream. Not sold as a night cream but really creamy & sinks in well.

Nivea So Soft gives me super soft skin in the morning.
