Supportive but on trend looking trainers

I'm usually in white leather converse or Stan smiths or other flat white, hard soled, unsupportive trainers.

I'm now at the stage where my ankles are protesting whenever I walk in them and my knee is going the same way (not helped by throwing it out while lunging a couple of months ago!).

I need something that looks good with either jeans or dresses (typical current look) but I have no idea what to get. I'm desperate for something that will support me. I need arch support and something soft/gel like to walk on. All my gym trainers are fine but they are obviously gym trainers and I want something that looks nice, classic and on trend.

Help me please fellow Mumsnetters!

I have just got some nice white fitflop trainers. They are good for support as I have plantar fasciitis and need to be careful what I wear.

I find that adidas superstars are really supportive in the way that sleeks and stan smiths are not. Continentals also look similar my supportive but I don’t actually have any.

I recently purchased some white trainers from Boden tried them on thought they were fab. But they really hurt my heels, nip my little toes and are so very uncomfortable. Nowhere, near me stocks Fitflops to try them on. Are the Rally ones really comfortable please as someone on another thread said the Rally ones weren’t comfortable at all but the Fitflop Vitamin ones were (but the look of these really isn’t the look I am after and think the knitted fabric would be hard to keep clean). I want them to be comfortable, supportive, practical and to also look right. Any advice? I need good heel cushioning, arch support and something that isn’t going to nip my little toes.

I like Nike Air max for everyday comfort . Also for shoes without arch support, you can get great full length arch support insoles from Boots.

I had to see a podiatrist a few years ago because of flat arches and hypermobile ankles. I was given strengthening exercises and also the advice to avoid trainers with soft gel or foam soles and insoles for running and walking. Apparently they just add to the instability.

For comfort and support, id go for Nike Air max 90.
They do look very trainery/sporty, but they are heavenly to wear
