Clothes for warm weather business trip

I'm traveling for work in late June - weather should be sunny 20-25 degrees. I used to travel for work a fair bit and always felt a bit like I was wearing something crumpled and too young looking (hate shopping, even more so for something I am unlikely to wear much). For my first trip since COVID started (and it's a big one) I'd like to change that.

Participants will be primarily a mix of government and NGO types - so needs to be pretty smart but I fall in the latter category so can get away with something slightly less formal perhaps.

I don't have mega bucks. Ideally I'd like to spend no more than £100 for 2-3 days worth of outfits (including eg. trousers I might wear twice with different tops, type thing). Maybe £150 with shoes.

Help?

It's not a big budget for several outfits and shoes. You could get stuff from Shein - it will look ok on its first wear.

Won't you be in air conditioned offices?

This looks smart, but polyester

The venue will probably be air conditioned but we'll be going out for lunch etc so needs to function in the warm. Budget can probably increase a bit - maybe something like trousers, two tops and a dress for 150ish (shoes on top of that). There will be more trips so it definitely has to have some longevity

Do not do Shein! The quality is appalling.

Try Vinted. Look for a silk dress from someone like Paul Smith, Tory Burch or DVF. You should be able to get one for £30 and it will be much better than anything you could buy. A lot of summer dresses are only worn a couple of times and silk doesn’t crease.

Also try Vinted for silk tops.

Then a Uniqlo cardigan (new).

M&S for trousers and possibly loafers.

Ah thanks, these are great tips. I've never really shopped at M and S for clothes before but am always seeing nice things on the Mumsnet emails and will definitely check out Vinted - I never know what brands to look for so that's really helpful.

Lightweight wide leg trousers with a simple, T-shirt shaped top (but not T-shirt material) with a blazer for in the air conditioning. Go for bright colours, red trousers, cream top and navy blazer. A navy and white dress which the blazer will go with, some navy, mid heel smart shoes or sandals.
