Bra that separates boobs please!

Can anyone recommend a bra for biggish boobs that actually separates them a bit? I’m finding all mine give me mono boob and need to get some air circulating round there as the weather gets warmer I’m overheating! Thank you!

Any correctly fitting underwired bra will do that.

Skelligsfeathers · 05/05/2022 23:25

Pananche tango is very good

Elomi are good for this but most bras will if you are wearing the correct size. Usually mono boob is an indication of too small a cup size.

Silverswirl · 06/05/2022 01:02

Go to the boob or bust website and measure yourself properly.
you will be astounded at the correct cup size you need.
buy the correct bra size they say and your boobs will be separated.

Silversurfer101 · 06/05/2022 20:50

I have been measured twice! But both commented that my boons are naturally close together. Therefore, assuming I’m wearing the right size, I’m looking for recommendations for which are the best bras for separating.

Boob or bust gave me a band size of 28. Even at my skinniest I could never have closed a band size of 28 🤣

GreenIsle · 06/05/2022 20:53

I have really good ones from M&S that provide lift/ support but has a thicker band in the middle which keeps them separated in a subtle way

SoggyPaper · 06/05/2022 20:55

The Freya fancies bra does this. You do need to make sure it’s the right size so the middle but lies flat against your chest though. if you don’t, any bra will give you a mono boob.

thenightsky · 06/05/2022 20:57

I've got a couple of these that are comfy. www.marksandspencer.com/total-support-embroidered-full-cup-bra-d-k/p/clp20139824?color=WHITE

Margotshypotheticaldog · 06/05/2022 20:57

I find panache sports bras very good for this, nice support, lift and separation without being too pointy!

Aconitum · 06/05/2022 21:02

Has to be underwriter and the wires have to rest flat on your chest to give that separation. The only way to find one that actually suits your boob shape and size is to try loads on so you need a department store.
I have been measured loads of times and they always say I am a 40H but the last one I bought I felt like the boobs were entering the room 10 minutes before the rest of me.
The best fitting bras for me are Triumph minimisers or supermarket t-shirt bras in a 38DD or E. They are a nice natural shape, no overhang anywhere and look good with tight or loose tops.

cpjoli · 06/05/2022 21:05

Banded bras from elomi. Love them!

Twitterwhooooo · 06/05/2022 21:16

Panache or Freya as pp mention.

Need to be the right size though.

WindyKnickers · 06/05/2022 21:20

I find m&s balconette style bras separate my large boobs.

This works well for me - 34dd - it's not heavily padded, just enough to smooth

TaranThePigKeeper · 06/05/2022 21:24

I find any M&S balcony bra works for me. As PP say, you need to make sure that the section between your boobs lies flat against your chest, and then they’ll stay where they’re meant to. I have the opposite problem to you otherwise - mine hate each other, and are always trying to escape to under my arms if left unfettered.

AmbushedByCake1 · 06/05/2022 21:25

M&S minimiser bra - lift and separate! Comfy too

DelilahBucket · 06/05/2022 21:30

You will achieve this with the correct size bra. If you are not achieving it, you are not in the correct size. If you have been "measured" I would hazard a guess you've had four inches added to your back size and the cup size reduced accordingly. This is what is causing your problem. Use boob or bust to get a better indication of your size and take it from there. Or get yourself to Bravissimo.
@starlingdarling if boob or bust say your back size is 28, that means you measure 28 inches or so under your bust. It is accurate. I would guess you are a size 8 in clothing? Try it, you'll be amazed at how great a good fit feels.

Sorry, I am no use, but I also have been told I have close together boobs and have given up on my search for one that separates. The ones where the middle bit is high up and therefore separates a little, I find extremely uncomfortable and rubs terribly as there isn’t enough space for it between my boobs.

starlingdarling · 07/05/2022 07:13

I was an 8 at the time... sadly more of a 12 now 😭 I did order 3 bras after measuring but I couldn't close two of them and the third I wrestled closed on the last hook but couldn't breath (it really hurt). Came on here to see if I was crazy and while some women swore by it, a lot of women agreed that it just wasn't accurate for them. I sew my own clothes so I know my measuring wasn't off. I think the problem is that I haven't found my brand yet so I can settle on a single size. At the moment I have 2 perfect bras and they're different sizes.

Silverstreaks · 07/05/2022 08:40

I have found Asda George T-Shirt bras the most comfortable and are getting better all the time.
The straps used to stretch out, especially with SPF in the warmer weather. Now they don't.
I wear a 34E. They sit nice and flat on my rib cage and fully separate my boobs.
Picture of my most recent ones.

But you got a non- stretchy tape measure of 28 inches around yourself. Providing the bra doesn't come up small, what makes you think that a stretchy bra made for those measuring 28 inches would be any different? I really don't get the figuring on bra sizing!

ColdApril · 07/05/2022 10:34

"@starlingdarling

But to have come up on BaB as a 28 then you must've measured 26-28" around your chest.

So yes, a 28" should have fit. Or you measured wrongly.
