Beauty/Hair products for a hot holiday

Any recommendations for makeup/skincare/hair products for a hot holiday?

I don't want anything super high maintenance, but anything that you've found help keep you looking put together on holiday?

I don't bother with much now on holiday. Removing waterproof mascara that you can't sweat off is far too much hassle when you're supposed to be relaxing! My whole face needs to be removable with some face wash only.

Now all I take when I go away is Nars tinted moisturiser, cream or powder blush, eyebrow pencil and a gel to shape them. Oh and eyelash curler. If I'm feeling really fancy I'll throw on some lipstick in the evening.

Don't really use much on my hair but Davines all in one milk after washing and if I was bothered about frizz some serum when dry.

Obviously an SPF 50 specifically for my face.

I'm getting lash extensions before we go, so don't need to worry about mascara.

I always struggle with skincare on holiday, as it gets really dry on the plane. And then greasy with sun cream during the day. Then tend to breakout.

I've also seen Philip Kingsley Swimcap, for hair protection. But it's got mixed reviews.

I like Bumble and bumble UV protector spray, in fact I've just ordered some for my upcoming holiday. Best thing for your hair is a hat though.

That is true. I've got a few hats I'll bring, but doesn't help in the pool/water.

I'll look at the UV protector spray.

What is your hair and skin type? Swimcap is okay but is really just a fancy leave in conditioner, you can get similar for a more reasonable price, but you need to go by your hair type really. Hair that goes lank and greasy in heat probably better suits an SPF spray in conditioner.

Sea salt spray and natural waves for me (normally I straighten). Plus a creamy leave in conditioner. Tinted lip gloss is about as much make up as I bother with. I need to remember a sachet of purple shampoo this year as I’ve had to resort to tomato ketchup for slightly green tinted pool hair previously.

Laura geller balance n glow, I use all yeay round over my foundation, but on its own on holiday. Its fab a light powder foundation that is build able. It's usually on offer on QVC, so you can try and return. I prefer the supersize but it doesn't look as though it's in stock at the moment.

Hair is fine and damaged, so swimcap might be too heavy.

Skin is typically standard combination - but pregnancy hormones are making it much less predictable. Breakouts are pretty constant on my chin and dry patches on my forehead.

Also looking for a waterproof eyebrow pencil/gel - if such a thing exists.

I've literally given up. I take my straighteners but usually pigtails or French braids during the day which are let out for beach waves in the evening.

My hair gets really dry in the sun/sea/pool, it’s bleached, so what I do is just put in a little conditioner into it wet and then use a bandana hairband - don’t know the proper name the soft fabric ones. Every time I come out of the sea after a swim or the pool I take my water bottle and pour a little over my head to remove the salt and then add a little of the conditioner again. Sounds like a faff but it takes seconds and once I started doing this at the beach I no longer return home with straw instead of hair!
