Hello,

I'm looking for a skincare routine/product that my skin will thank me for, for anyone that was tried clinique, what is your experience with it?

I have incredibly dry skin and can be prone to the off breakout and oiliness.

Any advice / past experience of clinique product, particularly the moisturise surge products?

I'm very cautious of creams being "tacky" and not sinking in making my skin feel greasy and I can't use them as it's so off putting

I have dry skin and it didn't work for me at all. Not nearly moisturizing enough. Also made my skin pill.

As a lifelong Clinique fan, Moisture surge was always a go to. Finances changed and I now use Olay, little pot £4.99. Quite a few friends have also said they've got. Will not go back.

I’ve just started it. Too early to notice a difference but it doesn’t feel greasy and seems to sink in to my skin quickly. They do a taster pack in boots for £25 which is what I’ve got with the lip stuff, the daily moisturiser, the night mask and the eye stuff if you wanted to try it without spending too much if you don’t like it

JetTail · 30/04/2022 23:26

Love it. Only thing that I use.

whatdodos · 30/04/2022 23:27

I have a little free sample tube of it, I've used it twice and I love it i noticed a difference anyway and I have dry skin! I'm looking for alternative though as I've probably one use left and it's too expensive for me and not cruelty free 😔

TheMooch · 30/04/2022 23:27

I have dry sensitive skin- it doesn't make my skin happy (but ot did years ago so suspect suspect change of ingredients).

I use rosehip oil and Paula's 'Choice moisturiser in the day because I need an SPF. For a face mask I use a Liz Earle one or a Simple one.

LadyOfTheCanyon · 01/05/2022 07:00

Clarins Hydra essential is better on my skin (dry but not excessively so) than moisture surge. I think I just prefer cream formulations to gel.

PawPrintsInMyPansies · 01/05/2022 07:01

I use it. Preferred it before they changed it, but still like it. I tried Olay as per a PP, but it brings me out in spots/rash, so am sticking to Clinique. I usualally pick it up when they have a sale/special offer on.

SleepPleaseee · 01/05/2022 07:06

Hate it. Much prefer the dramatically different (even though it isn't particularly)

Glad I clicked on this thread. I need a dupe until next Christmas!

builtonrocks · 01/05/2022 07:09

It didn't moisturise my skin at all. I much prefer ddml.

WarriorNewAgain · 01/05/2022 07:11

Have you tried Cerave?

GreatCuppa · 01/05/2022 08:17

I love it but but the Aldi dupe version instead as it’s about £5.

AssignedBlobbyAtBirth · 01/05/2022 08:21

I have sensitive skin and had a horrible breakout of dry, red, sore skin. I started using aveeno, just the body one. My skin is so much better. I could do with a sunscreen but I am reluctant to add anything else in until its had a period of calm

MrsPerfect12 · 01/05/2022 08:24

Not what you asked but have you heard of Hado labo, it's japans no 1 skin care range and you can buy it in Superdrug. I suffer from
dry and oily skin so I have to be careful.
I found out about it through mumsnet and decided to give it a go. I'm probably 5 weeks in and I'm happy with it.
it is quite thick but I have no problems with it sinking in and applying make up. I'm trying the lotion and eye cream too.

DollysLittleSister · 01/05/2022 08:30

It's okay. If you have very dry skin try the lipid one (think it also says 72 hours.)

It's a bit like the Neutrogena one in a blue pot.

I used it occasionally, but what I don't like is it has no anti-ageing ingredients like peptides, niacinamide, etc.

I've gone onto Olay Regenerist which is half the cost (less on Amazon.)

Having said that you might like Clinique Moisture Surge overnight mask.

Fancyateapottea · 01/05/2022 09:03

I used to use moisture surge as I have very dry skin. I swapped to using No7 HydraLuminous range about 2 years ago. Highly recommend the water concentrate. Cheaper, better, I’d never go back to Clinique.

ChardonnaysBeastlyCat · 01/05/2022 09:15

I used to like it, then I stopped using it for a while and picked it up recently, and I hate it now. Silicone overload, not moisturising, lust smeary.

I wonder what happened, my perception of it, or the product itself.

Pandorapitstop · 06/06/2022 08:57

It’s in the new M&S Beauty Bag.

AndSoFinally · 06/06/2022 09:18

There's 20% off at Clinique at the moment but today is the last day

WooNoodle · 06/06/2022 13:06

Can't stand it it's awful

NeedWineNow · 06/06/2022 13:29

I've tried it several times but it's just not moisturising enough for me.

I'm using Aldi Rejuvelate at the moment, although am moving on to their Q10 face cream as I can't seem to get the Rejuvelate in store.
