Hair drying brush

Hi.

I have a really cheap hair drying brush which straightens my hair as it dries it when brushing. It's been great but starting to lose heat and power and this time I'd like to invest in a better one.

Can anyone recommend one?

I have long, thick, prone to being greasy at the roots, hair. Very little time to dry it so like to just brush for 10 mins until dry and leave the house.

No Dyson products please!

BaByliss Big hair is great. I have thick hair prone to frizz and it smooths but keeps body.

Thanks @Easilystartled

I think that's an actual styling brush though which would require skills I don't have.

I mean a tip hair upside down and brush it kind of dryer.

A bit like this: www.boots.com/revlon-styling/revlon-one-step/revlon-pro-collection-salon-one-step-hair-dryer-styler-10228360

If you mean a hot air styler, rather than a heated hair straightening brush (like the GHD Glide) then you won’t go wrong with the Revlon One Step.

PS - I see the link you added shows the One Step Paddle Brush styler, but you can also get the One Step with a curved brush, this gives more volume and shape?

Bingitty · 24/04/2022 13:54

Thanks @Coffeepot72 I'm feeling a bit clueless. Can you use that type with straight out the shower wet hair? And without needing to style and shape the hair? I just want to brush and make it dry!

The GLD Glide is for dry hair I think? (The blurb talks of "second day hair"!)

Yes the GLD Glide is for dry hair. To use any of the Revlon or Babyliss styling brushes it’s best to blast your hair 80% dry first, with a hair dryer. You could start with completely wet hair, but it would take longer.

OP, what make/model of brush do you currently have, and does it blow out hot air?

tolerable · 24/04/2022 14:50

i got ionic one,£12 lidl last week.It is fantastic.

Bingitty · 24/04/2022 16:44

Current one is the "REVLON Pro Collection Salon One Step Hair Dryer and Styler".

It's the £28 one. Yes, it blows hot air. So it's all I have. I don't have a normal hair dryer as well. If I use a normal hairdryer my hair looks huge and unkempt. This "all in one" dryer and styler makes my hair straight.

The problem is that it's only lasted a short period of time. And I tend to think you get what you pay for with these things so was thinking of going up a price point or two.

@tolerable Thanks. If I lived anywhere near a Lidl I'd take a look!

And I now can't work out the difference between my £28 one (still £28 on Amazon) and the Boots £82 one.

Not quite what you want but i have similar hair. I wash my hair at night, go to he'd with it damp and then use my ghd glide on it in the morning for 5 mins, works well for me!
