A cardigan with bit of shape for a short pear?

I love a lightweight cardigan in the summer over short sleeved tops or dresses, but they all look shit on me.

I’m 5’3-4
Size 16-18
Pear shaped with a high waist and big boobs

Boxy or straight down cardigans don’t seem to do anything for me and make me look like a rectangle

Cropped cardigans don’t work because then they’re shorter than the tops I’m wearing underneath and I have a very big tum (think people thinking I’m pregnant every so often).

Has anyone found a cardi with a bit of shape? Maybe some stretch is the key. I have an ancient one from Debenhams which is edge to edge but ribbed and that’s not too bad.
Or had a kind of jersey type edge to edge one from monsoon but they don’t use the same fabric anymore. Got some of their linen mix ones last year but they are so straight up and down and also fall off my shoulders.

Any suggestions appreciated! Or am I better going for a denim jacket with a bit of a waist? Or a shacket or blazer or something?

I should add that the longline ones come up too long on me and swap me I think

I've had a couple of lovely cardigans from Tesco!

I bought a couple of simple cotton cardigans in John Lewis recently. They're standard cardigan shape, nipped in with a ribbed bottom (but that will be below your natural waistline).

I'm a shorty and love these ones from
Woolovers. I have loads in different colours. https://www.woolovers.com/womens/cardigan/silk-and-cotton-34-sleeve-crop-cardigan-green-19311

Crop sleeves are very flattering.

These are easy to wear

Appreciate the suggestions, thank you!
Have ordered a couple to try,
The kettlewell is more similar to styles I’ve had in the last and I’m excited that it seems to be the only cardigan on the internet that says it goes in slightly at the waist 😆 also love the choice of colours
But have also ordered a crew neck one from woolover which looked similar shape to the John Lewis but I like the 3/4 sleeves. So will see how that works but in the past crew neck ones have kind of fallen funny over my boob area.

Bravissimo ones would have been perfect. They don't do clothes any more, just underwear, but you might be able to find them online, maybe ebay? I'm a similar shape and the one I've got is perfect. Kicking myself for not just getting them in every colour when I could!

Cardigans are not really designed for us pears! I tend to go for the crew style thin knit in colours that suit me then undo the top couple of buttons and wear a vest underneath to round off the neckline. I also discovered (you can probably find videos on instagram) that if you do the buttons up wrong on the bottom then it creates a nice ruching effect and avoids the straight across look.

I think it boils more down to the cut and pattern rather than the shape. Eg. Avoid buttons - by what you describe about yourself you would look better in a long cardi that falls closer to the side of your ribs rather than in front,if that makes sense.- so it has more of an open feel. Thinner fabric nice for summer 😊

Thank you
Yes @bigbeautifulmonster I think you’re right and that’s what I’ve tended to go for but I think I’ve bought a couple of oversized boyfriend type edge to edge long ones which feel nice to wear but I’ve realised do me actually no favours

I’ve high hopes for the Kettlewell one which looks to be that sort of thing
But also interested to see how the slightly cropped crew neck ones work out as longer ones look funny over summer dresses I think and work more with trousers.

Agree on bravissimo @ChocolateChocolateEverywhere I’ve actually got a lightweight puffer coat from there which is great and their denim jacket was nearly perfect but not quite. It’s a shame they had to stop doing clothes ☹️
