Make up thoughts

I'm interested to hear ideas from people about make up if your colouring changes.

I've always worn pretty full makeup - foundation, concealer, powder, bronzer, blush, eyeliner, mascara & lipstick.

Originally, my hair was very dark but over the years, to make it easier to blend in the grey, I've gradually gone lighter and lighter so now I'd call it dark blonde.

Recently, I've felt like my make up isn't looking quite right and wonder if I need to explore different shades as my hair colour is really different.

Any thoughts?

Yes, you do. The darker your hair and/or features can carry off much sharper definition. The lighter your hair, the softer you need to go. Switching from brown/black liners to grey might work better for you. A lighter bronzer and blusher too. If you look on Pinterest for celebrities with similar colouring to you that have gone from dark to light you will see how much their make has changed.

Interesting...
What about lipstick then?

Agree about the eyeliner - I have just bought an olive/khaki shade that looks a lot better on me than the dark brown I was wearing.

I used to always go for a browny peach lippie as I had auburn/ dark blonde hair. It's now more of a goldy blonde (faded and some highlights.)

I've found some nude/ beige lippies wash me out.

I've gone for a slightly more pink tone but not a sugary pink.

I like Bobbi Brown Pink Nude and Clinique Pop in Blush, although Beige is okay too.

I've also gone for a very pale peachy-pink blusher- Nars Sex Appeal.

The older you get, the less heavy make up works on your skin - it might be worth looks at tinted moisturiser instead of foundation and powder?
