Running leggings that don’t fall down!

Hello! Please can anyone recommend any leggings that are good for running and that don’t fall down when running! TIA

M & S has been mentioned. I bought a pair of the draw-string leggings (with the pocket) for my first holiday abroad since covid hit. I don't use them for jogging but most mornings I pulled them on for breakfast, and they looked the same throughout the holiday. No worries about sagging, etc. Obviously I washed them when I got home, but they probably would have looked the same if I hadn't. So, definately recommend.

Nike Pro - the best leggings ever. Have lots of Sweaty Betty leggings, too but they never properly stay up unfortunately, especially if I have my phone in the side pocket as it seems to drag one side down

AuntieStella · 18/04/2022 08:31

Flanci and Tikiboo both have discounts this weekend

Phos · 18/04/2022 08:32

Lucy Locket Loves are good for that. They have a slightly wider waistband which seems to keep them up. I stopped buying them because the woman who owns it was beyond annoying on social media but she's toned it down a bit now according to other customers I know.

I have some from Rainbow & Sprinkles (I will admit to having been lured in by the patterns) and I cant’t recommend them highly enough! As a tall runner I really struggle to find leggings that are long enough but I got some from here and they’re fab. I got an 8-10 (I’m probably a size 9 in reality!) and there’s a drawstring which was lacking in the other long leggings I found.
I also have a cropped pair from M+S for when it’s warmer, handy zip pocket at the back and a side pocket for phone etc. and they also have a drawstring.

Blipped · 18/04/2022 08:46

Sweaty Betty as others have said but in reality, any with a waist drawstring should stay up. I look for three things for running leggings:

Drawstring waist
Side pocket for phone
Back zipped pocket for keys

Gym and Coffee are another brand to try. They don’t have the back zipped pocket but have a side pocket on each side and are cheaper than SB.

Another Tikiboo lover here :)

Iknowthis1 · 18/04/2022 08:54

Any high rise Lululemon leggings.

FunnyTalks · 19/04/2022 11:26

I have Sweaty Betty, M&S and Decathlon. Drawstring, high waist and phone pocket are non negotiable but not all their styles have these.

My verdict on the above 3 is that Sweaty Betty are cut in a magically flattering way. The M&S are quite flattering and the Decathlon aren't flattering at all. However they are all perfectly functional.

Even though I love how I look in the Sweaty Betty (zero gravity style - not true though because I still need to use the drawstring!) I think the M&S represents best overall value and I prefer the extra high waist too.

Seconding Rainbows and Sprinkles! Fabulous designs, don’t slide down, sooooo comfy, reasonable prices. Older styles have a back zip pocket but the newer ones have a thigh pocket which I prefer. There’s a Facebook group to share the love and also buying/selling. It’s worth noting they recommend sizing down (I wear an 18 trouser and the 16-18s fit me comfortably.

Something high waisted will stay up much better, so look for that. And as plenty of others have said, a drawstring too.

I swear by my Decathlon ones, and Ronhill, both of which meet the 2 criteria above!

But now it's warm, it will be shorts all the way for me - hopefully until at least October! No worries about falling down there. If you haven't run in shorts, I'd really highly recommend it - it's very liberating, and there's something about it that is just different from running in leggings. I wear the ones with close fit shorts inside and a looser outer layer. It's a great way to take the bright whiteness off my legs too!

CraftyCleopatra · 19/04/2022 12:08

I’ve been running for about 15 years and the only ones that don’t slide down are Nike….but they have to be in the right size…post DC my bum was certainly a bit larger so I sized up and while they felt lovely on, they slid down while running. I tried a few different pairs and the same thing. Eventually bought a pair in my old size…I’m not going to lie…getting them on was a bit daunting but….no slippage….so maybe you should try a size down?

BuffyFairy · 19/04/2022 12:20

Panther Fitness are the best ones I have

Not too expensive, quite flattering and stay up!

yoshiblue · 19/04/2022 13:27

I love H&M leggings - They are quite plain at the moment, but have had all sorts of patterns in the past.

I also have two pairs of Decathlon capri leggings. They have got to be 10 years old and are still like new.

Both fine for running and never had issues with them falling down.

HeyBlaby · 19/04/2022 13:33

Good Adidas ones, always go back to them.

newyorkbreakfast · 19/04/2022 16:39

I am a stickler for this! I don't think it's got much to do with price. My best leggings (determined solely by the fact they stay put whilst running) are Primark and Dunnes Stores, and cost about a tenner.

Dentistlakes · 19/04/2022 16:44

Sweaty Betty powers by a mile. I run 5-6 times a week and have had 3 pairs on rotation for nearly 2 years. They wash/last brilliantly. Yes, they are expensive but worth ever penny imo.

Greatoutdoors · 19/04/2022 17:09

I’ve always sworn by Nike leggings but last week I bought a pair of Everlast from Sports Direct for £20 and they are the best leggings I’ve had in years. There’s no rolling down with them at all.

CaveMum · 19/04/2022 17:14

I have Karrimor leggings from Sports Direct. Never had an issue with them falling down while running!

These are very similar to what I have and they’re only £6!

Or the full length leggings are £16

Wehadabetamax · 19/04/2022 17:27

I have running leggings from Tikiboo, Lucy Locket Loves, Ronhill, Decathlon and Karrimor. None of them fall down.

Kittykatmacbill · 19/04/2022 21:31

Nike ones with the draw strings are great.

KatharinaRosalie · 20/04/2022 22:19

I also used to think you must have drawstring, but Bara leggings stay up without it no problem, and are much more comfortable. Got rid of all my other leggings after trying theirs, including Lululemons, Nike and Gore.

Perfectlystill · 21/04/2022 21:21

Sweaty Betty and Nike
