I have loads of them. What will get rid of them please? I don't currently have any sort of skincare routine.

I used to have terrible blackheads, even with a good skincare routine. I use a quality BHA exfoliant daily and have never seen one since. It clears out the build up that causes them.

Do you have a link please?

I use a brand called Paula's choice, the 2% BHA exfoliant. I'm not in UK but this is the one:

www.paulaschoice.co.uk/skin-perfecting-bha-liquid-exfoliant/m2010.html

But you should be able to buy a comparable product at pharmacies. It's the 'acid' exfoliant that does the work so brilliantly.

I prefer this go Paula’a choice which did nothing for me.

Unfortunately with skincare what works for one doesn’t for another.

This I have found gentle but very effective. For me!

Make sure they are blackheads and not sebaceous filaments if you choose to extract them.

Thank you how do I know if they're blackheads or sebaceous filaments ?

Buy a blackhead extractor - its a tool with a hole at the end. After a warm shower squeeze what you can out with fingers - can be wrapped in tissues. Use a blackhead extractor on stubborn ones - go gently and wait for another day if one is stubborn. Clean up with an alcohol based toner or cleanser. Try to keep your skin free of moisturisers and anything oily. Not sure about the filaments thing. I figure if it's black and on an oily bit, it's probably a blackhead.

I've tried that before and nothing came out, I just ended up with very sore skin!

I can’t see any blackheads at al!

I think you may be looking at sebaceous filaments which are meant to be there and sometimes can look visible if you peer very closely at your skin.

Your skin looks clear to me. 🤷🏼‍♀️

cheeseisthebest · 17/04/2022 17:13

I don't think they're showing in photos

Came on to second Paula's Choice. Try the black one and the blue one and see which you prefer.

Changed my life.

I find clearasil works well. Then a night time moisturiser.

Thatswhatmamasaid · 17/04/2022 18:40

Microneedling got rid of all my blackheads.

If you Google sebaceous filaments lots of examples. I get them on my nose, it’s quite oily so build up of sebum. They look like tiny black dots. They do seem like miniature blackheads but they’re not. The easiest way to deal with them is to use the Biore deep cleansing pore strips for the nose – shaped to fit around the end - available in most pharmacies, Superdrug or online via Amazon etc I use one once a month, or so, when I get a build-up on the end portion of my nose. Don’t leave the strip on longer than the instructions recommend as then really hurts when you pull them off, just ease them off gently or soak off with warm water. Some people get filaments elsewhere, usually chin or forehead - particularly if you have oily skin or an oily t-zone - and Biore, I think, do strips for the face in general if that’s an issue.

Thank you. I do need to cleanse as I'm totally lax!
