Spotty chin after threading - advice!

Hi team,

So I have recently expanded the fluff removal on my face from the upper lip to the chin (oh the joys of ageing...). But this time (I've had the chin done a few times before..) I have loads of spots. Quite painful ones, though quite small. But I look like a spotty teen. I had it done about a week ago and I have tried using a spot fighting exfoliating cleanser but to no avail.

I don't normally have any spots at all these days (I am 37), though I have tended to make sure I use a toner on areas I have had threaded before.

I've run out of my old Garnier toner and I think it's been discontinued, so does anyone have one to suggest? I need something fresh but probably not going into actual Clearasil territory, but I'm open to all suggestions!

Any other advice to make sure this doesn't happen again? I don't want to have to choose between spots and a beard!

I get this reaction too, the only solution is to just pluck my hairs rather than waxing/threading

Oh no!

There aren't enough hours in the day I fear...

I didn't have it the first two times though, so I was hoping it might be something I did and can avoid in future. I enjoyed not having a goatee!

I got spots from threading once as well, only once, it's fine usually. Hopefully it's just a one off for you. I think I just use a superdrug toner, like a "simple" knock off type one, nothing special.

Good luck, I'm with you on the joys of a fluffy face 😳🙄

I find (after plucking etc) that's its always a good idea to damp some cotton wool with alcohol spray and rub it all over. I think it stops the germs getting into the exposed hair folicals and stops spots breeding. But I could be talking crap, all I know is that it works for me.

I had this as a one off from chin threading too. I use an arnica gel for one off blemishes, which I find helps.

Thanks all. I will try an alcohol toner maybe straight after my next visit. Usually I am very minimal with my skin as it's very good normally!

The beautician sometimes uses talc so I wonder if that irritated my skin. I will ask her not to next time.

Aloe gel after the threading - I use it after electrolysis
