Skin tags

First time posting in this group so not sure if this is deemed beauty…but I have developed a very small skin tag underneath one boob right on my underwire line and it’s very annoying/sore. Any tips to reduce the soreness/remove or do I need to get it sorted professionally? It’s ‘tag’ is only about 1mm wide. Many thanks.

If it kind of hangs away from you, tie a bit of cotton around it really tight and it will fall off. It will kind of go black and shrivelled and drop off. I think I also put a cotton wool ball soaked in cider vinegar on it

Ibuprofen gel also works at getting skin tags to drop off, apparently rub on twice a day.

If it hasn't got much of an attachment (longish 'stalk') then freeze with an ice cube and snip off with small scissors!!

I have one that won't budge! I've tried Cryotag, 'skin tags' from Healing Natural Oils, all expensive. Tieing it, I'm scared it won't come off then won't be able to untie the cotton. Not brave enough to cut off, the only thing left to try is electrolysis, I believe that can work. If you find something that works, please let us know!

Your doc will remove it for you if it is a problem.

No she won't. They don't do that on the NHS and haven't for some time. Hence why people are buying kits and bands on fucking Amazon.

Stillmousy · 08/04/2022 01:32

The bands from Amazon do work. They look like nothing at all but are surprisingly good.

Agreed - they work perfectly and quickly. Just did 3 tags on DH's neck last week and they all dropped off within a couple of days. He said it's painless. Google Amazon Tagband. There are over 16000 reviews fir it.
Wafflesnsniffles · 08/04/2022 02:08

"your doc will remove it if its a problem" - no........ they wont. Not on the NHS. Dont bother even trying to ask. Ditto if your ears need unblocking. No longer something done on the NHS. Its go private (£60 a time) or deal with it yourself.
Tying with cotton can work in a week or so
Vinegar helps - makes them go crusty!
Cryotag works well but isnt cheap.

I tried cotton, vinegar AND cryotag.......... took six weeks but they did eventually fall off.

flameycakes · 08/04/2022 02:27

I snipped mine off with sterilised scissors, hurt a bit, but solved the problem.

sunnygardenday · 08/04/2022 07:56

I've used cotton in the past and it worked well, but can be a bit fiddly. My last couple, I put a glycolic toner on a cotton bud and applied a couple of times a day just to the tag. They shrivelled up and went away, it was so easy and I usually have a toner like this in the house

Have you thought about seeing a doc for your stress and obvious anger about such a simple post?
CosmopolitanPlease · 08/04/2022 08:44

I snip mine off with nail clippers. It sounds brutal but is painless if you do it right.

Imtryingveryhard · 08/04/2022 08:49

Thanks everyone. I’ll have a google at the bands and see if they will help. I did hope a rather vigorous body scrub might do the trick but unfortunately not. If something does work I’ll update! Re ear wax, I’ve got a squeezy thing from Boots that works very well with warm sterile water. And one for nasal congestion for when I have a cold.
