I'm looking for a nice beige trench coat that can be worn with casual wear. Please share your best ones.

@Rights that one looks lovely! How does it come up for sizing? Thanks

It’s pretty true to size, possibly very slightly on the generous side but I bought it in my usual dress size (I am quite flat-chested though, so not sure how it would fit someone more blessed in that department!) I think they also do a petite version. The quality is good and it’s a nice cut (falls at around knee-length on me and I’m 5,7)

Do you want a fashion look or a waterproof one ? H and m had a lovely cream one thr other day for £35.. no use for bad weather though which will be the case for most I imagine unless Burberry!

LightOfAThousandStars · 01/04/2022 22:29

Thanks everyone, yes more for fashion to throw on for spring/summer weather. I will look at h&m as well.

For something as timeless as a trench coat I’d look at Vinted. You’ll have 100s to look at in cream. I’ve seen very good quality looking Hobbs and M&S ones on there for 10-15

I got a nice one from Mint Velvet last year.

I bought this one last year, saving up for a classic Burberry 😍

I second the Hobbs Saskia - I’ve got the petite version, am 5’3” and length is perfect.

Another vote for Hobbs Saskia. I have a khaki one, it's a few years old now and looks like new, it's beautifully cut. I would agree it's slightly on the generous side - mine is a 10 and I've gained weight and am currently a 12 in most stuff but it still fits me fine.

LightOfAThousandStars · 02/04/2022 09:02

Thank you, looks like Hobbs is the one! I'm a 10/12 so will try the size down first.

Just bought a Hobbs Saskia due to this thread - so I can stop wearing my old frumpy Paddington coat :)

LightOfAThousandStars · 07/04/2022 21:11

I ended up ordering the Saskia too, it's more than I wanted to spend but if it's well made then it will last ages so overall good value for wear. Thanks again everyone for the suggestions.
