Style/fashion bloggers/influencers - any that don't shill constantly?

The good ones inevitably become well-known and popular, so are hired to sell sell sell - and therefore become unreadable and untrustable in my opinion.

I think Alex Stedman does a good job of firmly demarcating her ad work, and still includes lots of unsponsored content, but I'm struggling for others.

Well the thing is, being an influencer is a lot of work. If you create great quality content that takes time, and in turn it's quite reasonable that you'll want to make money from that time and effort. It sort of sounds like you want people to put all the work in to making a great style account, but not be allowed to reap any benefits from it?

I don't know anyone who doesn't denote their paid partnerships and ads clearly, because that's against ASA regulations.

Emma Hill is great but I don’t think she’s posted much lately

I'm not saying that the sponsored work isn't properly labelled by influencers, Gwyneth - only that there isn't much else to see. And when everything is gushed over as absolutely wonderful, even things that are poles apart from each other and from the person's original style, and are never seen on that influencer ever again ... then I switch off.

I don't begrudge anyone a living, but it's going to backfire if they lose their audience, isn't it?

I agree @Mumsnut. I don’t mind if whatever they’re promoting is true to their personal style, but when people start flogging the likes of pandora and you know there’s no way they’d ever choose to wear it themselves, it’s off-putting.

I so agree, been following a older blogger since the beginning about two years ago, it was mainly her life she works in radio, a bit of fashion little bit of make-up, but she's so popular now, every week she's promoting a different face cream brand, saying each one is her favourite, turns me right off.

I love Dana and the Red Shoes. She wears lots of interesting clothes, including plenty of binate/pre loved and I’ve discovered new small businesses and bought from them, thanks to her. She has started making her own clothes using dead stock fabric, and they’re simply lovely; I’ve bought a couple so far. Afaik, no ads at all.

Luinluland is a British Insta lady who lives in the UK. She’s older, hilarious and I’d never dare to wear some of her stuff, but she’s given me ideas and again introduced me to some small businesses (like the awesome State of Disarray).

There is one that I used to follow, who did these amazing posts recommending clothes, but I’m following her less now that she’s simply become very well known and does more pr. All kudos to her, though.

Grr … Lu lives in the US. It’s less blogging and more showing how she puts wardrobes together. Her ‘get dressed’ reels are brilliant. She champions small inst businesses that you can either buy through her US site or direct from the UK.

I really like thefashion_lift, she doesn’t seem to do ridiculous amounts of sponsored stuff and what she does is her own style. She often styles older items too, from previous seasons which I like
