Microblading Hurt

tadpole73 · 31/03/2022 21:28

I've just had microblading done and the pain was immense. The lady said most people don't experience pain, but she have had a couple of clients that experienced the same level of pain. She said I have sensitive skin which I do have and I bleed more than most of her clients so could this be the reason it was so unbearable ?

Did she put numbing cream on first?

HermioneWeasley · 31/03/2022 21:43

I find it painful. I put a lot of numbing cream on myself before the appointment so it really has time to sink in and work, and I take paracetamol AND ibuprofen before the appointment. That seems to help.

wheresmymojo · 31/03/2022 21:44

I also find it really painful...

HanSB · 31/03/2022 21:47

You should have had numbing cream for Microblading? Keep up with the aftercare now and I take arnica 200 as well to help with healing. I switched to nano hair strokes which is gentler, didn’t need numbing cream and felt like light scratches. It looks much more natural than the sharper looking cuts they do in Microblading.

Lilapixie · 31/03/2022 21:49

I cry every time. With the numbing cream. It always heals really nicely though and looks amazing, so i keep going back.

lady725516 · 31/03/2022 21:51

Yes it does hurt

planetme · 31/03/2022 21:54

Microblading and PMU artist here 🙋🏻‍♀️

It is pretty painful 😖 the numbing cream helps to an extent but isn't perfect

Nano hair strokes or powder brows are more bearable

planetme · 31/03/2022 21:55

Also, I'm worried that you bled as that could mean she went a bit too deep 😬

inmyslippers · 31/03/2022 21:56

Yes it hurts, had lip blush done that also hurts.

Thismummyrunstheshow · 31/03/2022 22:01

I was the same, never repeated it again. Went back to tattoo (needle)

SophieSoSo · 31/03/2022 22:13

It was the most painful experience of my life, and I’ve had an 11lb baby.

I almost made her stop, and I’ve never been back.

tadpole73 · 03/04/2022 17:30

Thanks. Reassuring it wasn't just me. Yes, she used numbing cream, but it was like cut glass being dragged along my skin. I have to go to my 6 week check to see if she needs to infill. I dread it. I bleed easily. There was a question mark when a child of me being a haemophiliac, but I'm not upon tests when pregnant.

It hurting some places, but wasn't too painful, she applied numbing cream twice, one before and then again during the blading, she certainly didn't draw blood. It was quite sore for a few days afterwards,

Darklane · 03/04/2022 17:40

Can I ask please, what is microblading? Is it a tattoo? I’m assuming it’s to give you eyebrows if you have none or they are thin? Mine are thin & faded.

Greyhare · 03/04/2022 18:54

I find the first few strokes painful and then she tops up the numbing cream with a liquid and then it's fine, I ooze a lot rather bleed I think it's lymph fluid or something.

You could always try using emla cream as well before hand

Most of my ladies find the second appointment (retouch / infill) not as bad

It creates the effect of hair strokes using a tiny blade and ink

It is similar to a tattoo, but it isn't permanent. Done correctly- microblading should last 12/18 months

MissMaple82 · 03/04/2022 21:34

Shes gone too deep. She's disfigured you. You now have a permanent tattoo. Same thing happened to me! Because she's gone too deep, the lines will eventually spread and will no longer be a hair line so you will need corrective microblading in order to fix it bit you will only ever be able to have powder brows

Carpediem15 · 03/04/2022 21:34

I have had mine done 3 times over the years and would not have gone back the second time if the first had been painful.
Numbing cream and sit for a while then she does it - no problems

MissMaple82 · 03/04/2022 21:35

Microblading done properly shouldn't hurt, at all. I paid a fortune to have corrective and it didn't hurt one bit, it actual fact it was relaxing

Not always mine spread because I have oily skin, but a smudgy brow is better than no brow in my case.
marmiteloversunite · 04/04/2022 00:49

The first time I had it done it hurt like hell. Scraping into my skull was the feeling. I have recently had it done with a different beautician and she used a far superior numbing cream and kept re-applying when I could feel something. There are different levels of numbing cream and costs.

Everydaydayisaschoolday · 04/04/2022 09:26

I take paracetamol before and she uses numbing cream but it still hurts quite a bit. But to know true pain in the pursuit of beauty you need to have ultherapy on your neck. That's horrible.

Porridgeislife · 04/04/2022 09:30

Are you on HRT or anything similar?

I found the session (my 3rd) a few weeks after IVF (so hormones still attempting to settle down) to be really painful and I was also bleedy. Your hormones can affect how much you bleed and I think pain levels as well.

BeckyWithTheGoodHair010101 · 04/04/2022 10:12

Of course it hurts, she's cutting your skin with a blade. She should have used numbing cream though, and my lady uses a cream before and then an ointment during.
