Best mascara for short, sparse, postpartum lashes

I'm losing my eyelashes, they're so short and crap. I'm 5weeks postpartum so already feeling crap about myself but now crap eyelashes and eyebrows is the icing on the cake. I'm willing to throw money at the problem.

I'm after:
Something light so not to weigh them down
Nourishing/conditioning
Lengthening
Thickening

Tried all the usual rimmel / maybelline etc. £30 budget for a good one! Any ideas?!

Likewise need to fill in the gaps of my eyebrows and the pens I've tried just drag more brow hairs out when I take my makeup off.

The new Mac Stack is brilliant. I got a free sample the other week and I've already binned off my usual mascara (Bobbi Brown). I don't know how much it is but I would def look into this one- as its new and they are promoting it you might be able to bag a free sample from a Mac counter?

Get castor oil for your lashes. It's brilliant.

I love the Charlotte Tilbury Full Fat Lashes mascara. The brush is nice and big so it doesn’t cling on and clump and really gives the illusion of volume. I have sparse eyelashes and this works really well for me.

For Brows, I also use the Charlotte Tilbury Brow cheat pencil. It’s nice and slim and doesn’t pull on your brows. Good for filling in any gaps and looks natural. Benefit also do some great brow products - I like the Precisely Brow ultra fine pencil.

I came on here to say castor oil

Put some on your lashes both upper and lower before bed and you'll get results in days

It's sticky and gross though,
Sorry 😂 but it does work

Mascara wise I swear by YSL false lash effect in the gold tube
Pricey but worth it

Ah intrigued by the castor oil!

Clinique power lash it the best ever, very expensive but definately worth a try, I buy it with my boots points.

DogsAndGin · 31/03/2022 18:27

I have the shortest thinning eyelashes in the world, and they point downwards! Are you telling me, if I conceive, they’re going to get even worse?! 😅 I’m going to get falsies

Dior Pump and Volume.
Will never change as long as they continue making it. I didn't think any mascara was ever going to work for me (and have tried Benefit, Lancome, all the top ones)
Then I found this. My Holy Grail.

I recently switched to L’Oreal Lash Paradise which contains castor oil and am really pleased with it.

West Barn Company The Brow Pen has changed the game for me. Incredible brow pen that creates very fine lifelike hairs (must use light pressure). I'm fair skinned with brown hair and use the shade brew.

As for mascara give maybelline lash sensational a go. Have you ever considered getting lash extensions in the style "classics" or a lash lift and tint? That would do the trick too.

Mackmama · 01/04/2022 09:49

If your eyebrows become an ongoing problem, micro blading is very good. I lost all mine due to alopecia and the micro blading was a game changer. I know lots of women with sparse brows get it done too x

Talika products really saved my post partum lashes, even just using the gentle eye makeup remover alone had an amazing beneficial effect on growth and strength.

And I really rate this for brows, it has fibres in it that build them up
