Best bra to uplift big boobs, without adding bulk!!

opalescent · 24/03/2022 11:18

Hi all, I'm petite with big boobs, and on an endless search for the right bra.
I want uplift, but I don't want any padding. I also loathe balconette styles, as I find the way that they pull your boobs forward I'd very unnatural and uncomfortable!

I just want a simple, non padded bra, that holds my boobs against my chest in a natural but lifted way. No need to create cleavage or anything like that!

Basically, recreates the natural braless position of my boobs when I was 21!!

Can anyone help?

I'm a 30f by the way

Find your nearest branch of bravissimo or a local independent lingerie shop. Go and tell them what you are looking for and be prepared to try loads on to find the style for you.
When I find a style I like I tend to buy it in several colours at once.

I like Prima Donna satin bras ....I'm 36G

rbe78 · 24/03/2022 11:27

I like the Gossard Superboost. It's lightly padded, but not in that moulded 'push up' way. I think they also do a totally non-padded version.

GooodMythicalMorning · 24/03/2022 11:30

Prima Donna bras are excellent, and so are Empreint. Very supportive and well made. Not cheap though both about the £100 mark but will last years.

ChickinMarango · 24/03/2022 11:34

Can you join boob or bust on Facebook? They’ll make sure you’re truly wearing the correct size which will help a lot then they can recommend specific bra types depending on what shape boobs you have.

XingMing · 24/03/2022 11:51

Prma Donna, again. The best. Spend the money, and buy a lingerie bag to wash them. They will last ages if you do.

GooodMythicalMorning · 24/03/2022 11:57

I work in a lingerie shop. We don't recommend boob or bust as it doesn't work for most people.

MarmiteCoriander · 24/03/2022 11:58

I sometimes get minimiser bras, often M&S. Rather than projecting the boob outwards, they flatten closer to the chest. Some are too flat, but they do mean I can wear some blouses that won't fit under a regular, projecting type bra.

AllLopsided · 24/03/2022 12:03

I like Elomi for a natural look. Very comfortable too!

FinallyHere · 24/03/2022 12:35

Honestly, take a day off and visit https://www.rigbyandpeller.com for a fitting. It will transform your life and absolutely be worth while in the long term in saving on not making mistakes. You can buy bras online once you know what suits you and how to adjust the straps.

I only go back if I've lost or gained a lot of weight which changes bra size for me.

Pour moi or Fantasie

TherebytheGraceofGodgoI · 24/03/2022 17:41

Prima Donna Deauville.
Will not wear anything else. Literally life changing as it separates boobs from belly.
Expensive but so worth it. Cheapest place I’ve found is Plumbs Lingerie in Jersey who do mail order. 34GG here and they give fantastic shape and support.

GooodMythicalMorning · 24/03/2022 19:39

I don't think elomi go small enough in the back. We only sell them from I think 34gg but it might be 32 but definitely not 30 back.

NotMeNoNo · 24/03/2022 20:57

Fantasie Fusion is a good simple bra, Bravissimo and John Lewis sell then as well as online. It doesn't look much but a really good shape, no padding, and no-show under tops.

Aconitum · 24/03/2022 21:10

I find minimizers are pretty natural looking without being too flattening. I usually wear Triumph but actually have a couple of Matalan ones on the go at the moment.

Laiste · 24/03/2022 21:42

I like Freya bras. A lot of them are fine mesh and totally unpadded but supportive.

grownup2 · 24/03/2022 22:16

Maybe look at the Bravissimo Millie. I'm wearing it for the first time today in 34h. Good lift, forward facing shape, but slightly elastic cups for soft shape and no excessive cleavage with well designed wires. No padding.

Fairly comfy so far for me and apparently very popular.

StarlightLady · 25/03/2022 05:34

OP, this is so difficult to answer because it is not just about size, it is about shape and, as you say, the way you want to look.

I’m a top heavy 36F (34F in some brands), the Panache Tango works better for me than any other bra. It also comes in a lovely range of colours, the colour range regularly changes. I don’t do white or beige. But what is good for me, might not be right for the woman across the way. The matching knix are very comfy too.

Boomerwang · 25/03/2022 05:39

The most comfortable bra brand I've ever tried in multiple styles and have been satisfied with all of them are Goddess. I think it's an American brand but is available in the UK. I don't know about their back sizes though.

I'm quitting underwires although I really need them because I'm tired of handwashing the damn things after destroying so many lingerie bags and even damaging my washing machine. Goddess do a good wire free supporting bra which does its best not to look like a grandma tit holder.

ZealAndArdour · 25/03/2022 05:53

Highly recommend the Panache Envy, I must have bought 20 of them in my lifetime. Very supportive, soft lace cup, but keeps them in well in check and in the natural position you’d want them to be in.

Available in a 30F and multiple colours.

ChangingStates · 25/03/2022 06:14

I am a 28FF or a 30G and need bras with good lift as my breasts have no lift left of their own!! I shop at Bravissimo- bras generally around the £30-£35 mark, good quality and a large selection.

My current favourites from there are the Cleo Asher which has a good rounded up front shape and the Bravissimo Millie which is more minimising, still rounded but less upfront, a bit flatter.

If you can get to one of their shops it's worth having a fitting and trying on for the shape that works for you. Otherwise their online is great - I order several styles and then post back what I don't want- easy to do and returns label included.

ChangingStates · 25/03/2022 06:15

Oh yes, Panache Envy too as PP just said
