No haven’t tried ipl my dd had it on her upper arms and Childs farm moisturiser worked.

Kracken · 24/03/2022 13:02

I haven't tried IPL but am seeing improvements in skin texture with Cerave smoothing cream - I can't feel bumps much at all on my arms now. Still have little dots on my skin where the pores were inflamed but am hoping if I keep using the cream my skin will eventually heal and the dots will fade. Also a bit of a tan will hide them over the warmer months!

PAFMO · 24/03/2022 16:55

My DD used Ameliorate and it cleared it. Anything with lactic acid will work.

Thanks guys- I have tried all of the above and it just angers the spots ... desperately need some new arms Wink

Have you tried an aha cream? Palmer's do a body lotion aha that for me is exactly the right amount of moisturizer plus makes all bumps ingrowing hairs etc disappear. It is the only one, no other lotion works as well.

Try that at night, a good scrub in the shower each morning with scrubby gloves plus a vitamin c serum for the day time.

Do you use shower gel? I found that switching to bar soap made a massive difference

Thank you will give that a try, what brand do you use

It doesn't seem to matter (just avoid dove which are "beauty bars" not soap.)

I'm currently using some from chateau du Savon, because I decided to something a bit different

123ZYX · 26/03/2022 21:58

*treat myself to something a bit different

Mine disappeared when I cut out gluten/wheat from my diet.

I have heard this before, have you completely cut it out?

Another shout for soap instead of shower gel. I don't use any specific brand of soap.
It was suggested here at S&B a few years ago. I made the swap and it cleared up within a couple of weeks.

magicstar1 · 27/03/2022 21:44

Mine went by using L’Occitane almond shower oil. It only took a couple of showers and doesn’t come back at all.

HeArInGhandsgirl11 · 27/03/2022 22:03

Definitely going to try the soap

Switching to natural soap worked for me too. I often buy a couple in a scent I really like, then leave them in my bedding closet. Helps harden the soap, so it lasts longer and doesn’t go slimy and it makes the bedding smell lovely!

HeArInGhandsgirl11 · 27/03/2022 22:10

Any soap recommendations?

My daughter gave up dairy products due to an allergy and I did to in solidarity. My bumpy skin has completely cleared up and hers is gone too. I had it for years too. All redness gone also. We use Alpro vanilla milk in everything now and our arms are lovely!

SunshineThelma · 27/03/2022 22:15

Soap and Glory sugar crush body lotion does the job for me. I used the blue Palmer's for years and it was good but I wasn't a fan of the smell. S&G is usually on offer, smells better and works well.

Interesting my daughter has it really bad, she used to be lactose intolerant and now has started to get tummy ache when she eats dairy

You need salicylic acid.

You can either get the salicylic acid wash from CeraVe or get the CeraVe SA cream.

EducatingArti · 27/03/2022 22:32

Yes, pretty much.
I tried gluten free as some people felt it helped their fibromyalgia. It did nothing to help with mine but I discovered that I was able to reduce my asthma medication and stop meds for IBS completely so I continued to be gf. I can tolerate a small amount of wheat and have been known to eat a small slice of birthday cake to be polite but my regular diet is now gf.

QuercusRose · 27/03/2022 22:59

Coeliac here so yes, I'm strictly gluten free forever now
