Recommendations needed please for straighteners for damaged hair. I'm trying not to use them very often but like to when I'm going out.
Thank you

I'd say the GHDs they stay at around 185c how you use them is important too, only pass through each section once and use heat protection spray.

L’Oréal Steampod. I bought the first generation in 2011 which is still going strong. I’ve never had any split ends since us

posted too soon *since using it

I came on to say exactly the same as @hotpotnoodles. I have an older L'oreal Steampod and they are well worth the investment. I have thick, curly hair that Ghd's won't touch but the Steampod works effortlessly at low temperatures, I never get split ends from it and it stay straight for days, even after getting it wet in the rain.

I'd say GHD as they don't get up to the much higher temperatures that other straighteners do. I have the platinum plus which gives a sleeker finish than my older GHD ones do, and doesn't seem to make my hair worse or frazzle it like higher temp ones do. Make sure you use a protection spray or cream - I use kerastase ciment thermique to protect my hair and only go over each section once.

Another vote for Steampod. I usually use 180C to avoid damage. It also gives smooth ends. My GHDs would make them look crispy and dry.

I have a very old pair or Corioliss straighteners that you can set either 135º-180º-210º-235º I tend to keep them around 180 but sometimes drop them down to 135 but they don't damage my hair as much and are at least 5 years old and have near on daily use.

Cloud Nines for me. The temperature is adjustable so I tend to use lower temps on in between days.

I was told that Cloud Nines are made by the people who originally made GHD's, a lot of salons are now moving away from GHD to Cloud Nine.

Another vote for SteamPod

Thanks so much for your recommendations. So I need to choose between ghds, cloud 9s or steam pod. I like the idea of steam pods!

Best thing is to lay off heat for a while! You could always get creative with no heat hairstyles! I watch them on the youtube. They saw to wrap your hair around a dressing gown rope for some lovely curls! Good luck and buy some argon oil! Au revour
