I have a lip gloss and lost my mascara!
Also have some purple eye mousse stuff!

Love nail varnish though (just to appear slightly girly!)

some transluscent powder to keep shine away

rosealbie · 06/01/2008 18:08

How about a tinted moisturiser? I always use a brow colour (Benefit) which I couldn't do without, mascara and cream blush in a rosy pink.

Maidamess · 06/01/2008 18:09

Tinted moisturiser/foundation dep. on coverage required.

Powder to keep shine free

Concealer for baggy bits and shadows

Neutral eyeliner that doesn't need sharpener, ie a twist up one

Mascara, dark brown or black

Neutral eyeshadow for sockets, to give illusion of wide open eyes!

I'm never without a soft pink blusher (plus brush)Stops me looking like death.

HAve a look on that elf site, dead cheap!

pukkapatch · 06/01/2008 18:11

it all depends on whether or not you are going to actually use anything. there are sooo many products around. that do wonderful jobs, but if you arent going to use them, they are a waste of time and money
what is the reason you want a makeup bag?

Islamum · 06/01/2008 18:11

ysl touche elait - sp? 2 hours sleep in a stick - that lippy and a eyeliner

emsiewill · 06/01/2008 18:12

If you are looking for somewhere to buy stuff, why not try here. Really cheap, and apparently really good.

Following another couple of threads on this (just search for "elf" today), I have just ordered 7 items from them for £13 (inc delivery).

Don't think they do nailvarnish here yet, but the US store (where everything is $1 ) does, so maybe they will here eventually...

bigknickersbigknockers · 06/01/2008 18:12

tinted moistiriser/foundation (if you want a 'made up' look)
Concealer, eye liner, mascara, neutral colour eye shadow, blush, and lipgloss.

YumzieMumzieLaura · 06/01/2008 18:14

Ive got my eye on No.7 Illuminating cream. Youre suppose to put it near the eye sockets, and at the side of your face (above where your blusher would go).. it gives your face a glow. Im also a big fan of blusher now as it just gives your face a healthy look. (easy to get the application wrong tho.. you can end up looking like Coco the clown)

Nymphadora · 06/01/2008 18:29

Been looking at the ELF site , didn't know what most of stuff did or differences between them!

I do also occaisionally use concealer!

Never used foundation or anything like that, think I will need a maek up lesson too. Don't want to be wearing every day , just nights out, smart occaisions that sort of thing

theres a woman on youtube who has put up makeup lessons. watch them.
you will also need makeup lessons from shop assistants on your face, to show you what the stuff actually looks like.
how did you manage to grow up without learning how to put makeup on? this is an honest question, becaus ei dont see how this can happen. from my experience, everyone was applying th e stuff from early on, and some getting better than others as they grew older.

pukkapatch · 06/01/2008 18:54

this owman she has various different videos up. the link is to quite showy eyemakeup for a night out. dont worry abotu that, as may be excessive for first timer, but there are other looks there. have a look at various different one.

Nymphadora · 06/01/2008 19:35

Pukka-Never been interested in make up, only started last year and mainly lips/mascara, friend helped me do eyes for a 'do' hence the eye mousse!
Not that interested now tbh just think I need something now and again!
