Look at the necklaces in my profile and give me honest opinions.
These are a few things I have made over Christmas and I want to know if I am on the right track or not before I buy more beads. I make them mostly for friends and family, haven't tried to sell any yet, but would probably charge around £5-£10 if I did.

They are lovely! Im sure they would sell as a lot of people prefer something thats a bit different to all the stuff you can buy in the shops.. I like the silver and black one best!

Maidamess · 06/01/2008 18:12

They are pretty, but personally I prefer more of a 'statement' with my necklaces, something that will make a dullard top look funky. I like chunky ones.

MaryAnnSingleton · 06/01/2008 18:13

already said on other thread, but agree with Yumzie about black and silver one !

MaryAnnSingleton · 06/01/2008 18:13

£5 -£10 seems reasonable too

pukkapatch · 06/01/2008 18:14

personally i would prefer just the one big bead, rather than the three or four.
also, i think that if the stones are what you say they are, then they should cost more. you need to factor in the cost of materials, plus a wage for yourself. and something extra if you have to pay for the place you are selling them . eg. stalls etc.
they are gorgeous

oxocube · 06/01/2008 18:18

Really pretty. My favourite is the top one. Price is v reasonable imo

dexter73 · 06/01/2008 18:19

They are very pretty but they do look rather short - like chokers. Do you make longer ones too?

YumzieMumzieLaura · 06/01/2008 18:25

Ooh yeah good point - longer ones would be nice...

Pannacotta · 06/01/2008 19:16

Lovely but I also prefer longer necklaces.

janeite · 06/01/2008 19:24

I especially like the middle one but I agree that they need to be a bit longer. I like a necklace to fall at about collar bone level or just below so it "fills" the space left by a scoop neck iykwim.

They are very pretty.

belcantavinissima · 06/01/2008 19:33

THEY ARE PRETTY AND DELICATE whoops sorry caps lock! i would say you could ccharge approx £10 -£12 for them tbh. they are much nicer than some i have seen on sale on craft stalls down this way (that were selling as well btw!) for about £15 to £20.

like maidmess though i like huge chunky necklaces myself but those are deffo marketable

RosaLuxOnTheBrightSideOfLife · 06/01/2008 19:50

Thanks for all the feedback everybody. I have made some longer ones as well, so it is interesting to know that some people prefer those. I really only started making them to give to friends and family as presents, but a few people have said they think I could sell them so I will look around for a craft fair at Easter. DH gave me a voucher for a glass bead making class for Christmas, so I may be making my own beads as well soon .
