Brush cleansers- what are your recommendations?

I have tried various types ,gels from real techniques and EcoTools , a solid one from revolution and a cheaper liquid one from Wilko. They are ok-ish but I find they do not clean my brushes properly or it takes ages. I use a brush cleaner pad . My foundations and concealers are long wearing , not waterproof .

Which brush cleaner do you use and love? Budget is around £ 25.
Thank you

I use Dr Bronners liquid soap, usually the mild baby fragrance free one, I've never used a specific brush cleaner though, so I don't know how the Dr Bronner would stack up against what you've already tried.

Baby shampoo or shampoo I don’t get on with does the job for me.

Are those Aldi/Man from the Apprentice swirly globe ones any good? I keep seeing them in the Specialbuys and am tempted, then think, no, they're £25 and handsoap is pennies.

I just use baby shampoo. Like 50p from Aldi.

I use either shampoo or liquid hand soap.

I just use shampoo. Works for me.

I used to use special brush soap then discovered the Johnsons baby shampoo works just as well

I use the Clinique one for spot cleans between uses and wash brushes with normal shampoo every few months (I don’t wear MU very often and when I do it tends to be powders).

I use Pears soap or similar. A friend is a high profile makeup artist and that’s how she does hers.

I love this one. It’s brilliant value. Lasts for ages. Rinses out easily.

I use Isoclean and then dunk in water and spin dry using the Styl Pro.

QuizzicalEyebrows · 20/03/2022 21:40

I just use hand soap

I use this Real Techniques one and find it good. Up to then I was using baby shampoo. I would go back to that when this runs out but I'll continue to use the silicone pad that comes with it as I think that's what really makes the difference. So maybe just buy one of those and use with shampoo/soap?

Liveliferun · 20/03/2022 22:20

Fairy liquid

Wagsandclaws · 21/03/2022 00:29

I've got the Aldi spinny one for £25. It's amazing and really does work.

You have to top up the cleaner which is sort of oily but it's hard to explain - it cleans all my brushes with one go though. You can buy the solution separately.
