Concealer help for DD

Teen DD terrible acne. Mid teens and not keen to take to the GP. I recall being given antibiotics and the pill which didn't help much.

Back to the subject I bought a few lacura concealer pens in the lighter shade for me some time ago. DD has found the shade perfect for her skin. And of course now you can't buy them.

We do all our shopping online - partly as I have been ill and she's too busy. (Clearly I do the odd trip to Aldi!)
Has anyone got any good online concealer they can recommend - I suppose it had better be cheap as it will be trial and error with shades.

Powder mineral foundation is great for building up coverage and can conceal very well. Just brush it on with a kabuki brush.

I've used this brand. Very inexpensive and simple ingredients.

They do green concealers too. You can even pat on with a brush and then blot with a brush to blend over very red areas.

As several others have said, Revolution is cheap (available on Amazon) and one of the best of the budget brands.
I’ve tried pretty much everything, at the age of 44 and still getting a bit of acne 😬
It’s not cheap, but I’ve just discovered Kosas. It’s the best I’ve ever tried.
It’s highly pigmented, so a little goes a very long way. You can buy small samples of the concealers via their website, to test the shades.

I would advise trying Vinted to buy any of the more expensive brands, if your daughter wanted to try Kosas, Tarte, etc
People sell brand new cosmetics on there, sealed in original packaging, for incredibly low prices. Same goes for skincare.

The best skincare I’ve used (and again, I’ve tried loads!!) is Paulas Choice BHA Liquid Exfoliant. Magic stuff.
A good budget option is Lacura acid toner.

I agree with take her to the GP. They have many options she can try of once daily lotions that will clear her skin in months. Slapping on concealer will only make it worse- I would go with a tinted acne treatment that has salicylic acid in it to cover blemishes and if she must wear make up on top, ensure it is light mineral based powder.

I would also check her skincare. Is her cleanser too strong and upsetting her skin ph? Is the moisturiser oil based and clogging her pores? (Most teens don’t need moisturisers and only need a very gentle cleanser.)

I have just bought this (photo attached, hope it works) for my DD who also has acne prone skin. You can use it alongside the prescription cream.

Nip+fab teen skin salicylic acid is great for acne, use plenty of moisturiser because it’s very drying.

Not available on line obviously but the no7 colour match at boots is great for teen skin, a bad colour match just highlights the acne even more I find so my DD found it helped a lot to have the concealer colour matched.

Your poor DD. I suffered as a teen and have only recently got acne under control (mid-30s). I was also reluctant to go to the GP; my anxiety was actually attending the surgery without make up. If this is her reason, I would suggest she wear a face face mask from the house to the GP office, will give her some confidence.
Anyway, I came to say the best concealer I've used is Dior. Realise that's probably a bit pricey though.
I highly recommend you get her La Roche-Posay Effaclar Micro-Peeling Face and Body Cleansing Gel and La Roche-Posay Effaclar Clarifying Lotion and the La Roche-Posay Effaclar Duo+ Blemish treatment. It completely changed my life. Diligence with cleaning skin twice per day to take off every scrap of make up.

ELF Camo Concealer or Hydrating Camo Concealer.

I love the Erborian CC Red Correct cream. It's a green cream - you can wear on own, or with other foundation or concealer. It really tones down redness in my skin. It's pricey but they do a travel size, and it lasts ages.

Vichy Dermablend SOS Concealer Stick (I used this to cover severe burns and scars after facial operations) Boots sell it too.
