I get mine professionally straightened twice a week and colored every 6 weeks.

I used to colur my hair, but I look so much better since I stepped away from the Nice n Easy

I don't ner ner ner ner ner

My dp says this he calls them biscuit heads

The worst type is the over highlighted. It either ends up loking grey at best or bird shit. Why oh why?

Now I just have to cope with my not-quite-brown not-quite-blonde not-quite-red hair

Every woman over 30 has hair severely short and severely dyed - often a vibrant shade of dark red. Dh and I find it mystifying. When I go back to UK I find the hairstyles amazingly fashionable/subtle/attractive in comparison.

I went to the hair dressers before christmas and she said my what virgin hair you have (never coloured)

she begged me I mean begged me to let her colour it!

I saod no she said ill do it for free

Virgin hair is very rare apparantly and hari dressers adore to work with it

I don't - never had it coloured, or treated in any way apart from a bog standard cut and blow dry

It's a dilemma - I colour mine (professionally) because I don't want to go grey.

But I don't think it's red or green!

As for the 'overprocessed', not much danger there as I'm a pretty low maintenance person. But got some ghds for Christmas so will be practicing with those soon.

home colour is hideous and never works. If you want dyed hair you need someone good who knows what they are doing.

I only do mine because of the grey. I just dye it back to near it's natural colour (dark brown). I rarely blow dry it though let alone straighten!

I use home colour and it works out OK for me.
Hairdressers a bit expensive for me atm.

Worse is that nasty orange colour t got the balls to go for that brunettes go when they want red but haven't got the balls to go for it.

Do a bit of dying - literally a bit - am going grey over my ears so Vidal Sassoon dye the bit over my ears, then touch up the bits at the front and because they are good and can match my natural hair colour well, it generally looks okay. They've been doing this for about 18 months.

BUT I looked in the mirror this morning and my hair has an alarming corona of red. I am turning GINGER.

I don't colour mine at all and I don't use 'products' either (just shampoo and conditioner). Unless I'm going out, I don't style it or straighten it.

There is a mum at ds's school who has the top layer of her hair white blond, and the bottom layer (which is longer) a dark brown. It looks like she has put a white wig on on top of her own brown hair.

She wears a shell suit jacket too, and very tight jeans.

Over all effect a bit

I used to colour mine brown (my natural colour) to disguise the grey. I started going grey at 21. I am now 36 and have not coloured mine for a year. The idea of all those chemicals put me off, and the cost involved too...

Now I am brunette with grey streaks at the front, and as long as I condition my hair regularly to keep it sleek and shiny then as far as I am concerned it looks fine.
