Tret - is it worth it over 50?

Hi. I am 50 and have been using tret (0.021% with Skin & Me) for a good ten months and haven't really seen much difference. I am using it for anti-aging not for any other skin problem. Recently I have been getting a red and dry chin which is a bit grim and I think tret is the culprit. So if all tret is doing is making me look worse I am thinking of jacking it in. Has the anti-aging ship sailed??! Any advice appreciated.

Hi Juniper, I’m 53 and on second month with skin and me, purely for anti ageing,I feel my skin is looking better 🤔 I asked them to prescribe tret straight away as you can buy the ingredients they give you for the first couple of months over the counter!
I have a red, burning sore patch above my lip though and was wondering if Tret was the cause, I’ve stopped using it every night to see if it is.

@curlyfries
Every night?????

@junipermerry the older you get the better tret is! Make sure you are using the right products on your non tret nights.
And both of you are obviously using high factor spf every day . Wink

@DameCelia
Yes, it’s only a very low dose, something like 0.005%, they said to use every night. I’m only planning on a couple more months then cancelling - I always use factor 50 every day, even in winter ☺️

@curlyfries
If the dose is so low you aren't seeing any benefit you can ask for an increase in the dose.

@DameCelia Yep 50spf all the time. Promise.
