Any tips for under eye recesses (pic included)

Hi all,

I’m nearly 41 and under my eyes makes me self conscious. Does anyone have any tips on how to disguise the hollows under the eye? I normally have very dark circles as well, I’m not keen on tear trough filler, but maybe that is the only option.

Thank you.

I have this too, I am a South Asian skin tone so the dark circles are sadly very prominent. Concealer can help but only does so much. Tear trough fillers are the only proper fix, no creams etc really do anything

I think you look beautiful! I know this probably doesn’t matter when you feel self conscious about something but imagine looking at this pic when you are 60/80/100 - you will almost certainly think you looked beautiful.

You look great!

Beautiful eyes!
Tear trough fillers. I had them done and the difference was incredible. I look less tired and my dark circles are less pronounced.

Thank you for your kind words everyone. Are tear trough fillers painful? I’ve heard they can go wrong. Thank you!

I do an exercise from Faceworks where I lift the lower lid ( so your eye can almost close) 5 times then on the last lift hold it for ten seconds. Repeat five times. You need to do it every day if possible.

Ah op, I’m 45 and very soon to be 46 and know your feelings well. For me, I found a small amount of Botox on my forehead and sides of my eyes some how lifted my lower eye. Also, I use a good eye cream under my eyes at night and “seal” it in by putting Vaseline over it. I don’t like the sound of the other option either but fortunately my combination had meant I don’t need it, for now!

If you want an actual solution then go to someone good who does Botox / fillers and take their advice.

Or you could just use the money to have a lovely time with the family instead and forget about your eyes! (I suggest this option!)

I watched a YouTube makeup video where red lipstick was sparingly applied, blended, then foundation on top. It hid the dark eye recesses very well.

Milomonster · 12/03/2022 22:46

Definitely only go to someone highly skilled and a trained Dr. You don’t the area over-filled.

TheBareTree · 12/03/2022 22:52

I’ve had tear trough fillers. They don’t hurt at all. They said they last 12-18 months but I’m nearly 2.5 years on and still see the benefit from them.

Jinglebellsoncake · 12/03/2022 23:16

Tear Trough fillers aren't painful.
They are one of the highest risk dermal filler areas and highest complications rate by far. Go to someone highly skilled for tear trough filler

99pronouns · 13/03/2022 22:36

Anyone on here that's had this procedure happy to recommend their doctor?
I'd like to see if I'm suitable - but struggling to work out how you find a decent doctor to do the procedure

BigButtons · 13/03/2022 22:37

I had fillers, bloody amazing results

BigButtons · 13/03/2022 22:39

Actually mine were very painful but they were deep so the cannula had to be pushed quite high up. I would do it again in a heartbeat though as the results are amazing.

readingismycardio · 14/03/2022 06:01

Honestly with those blue eyes, can't imagine anyone who'd notice the under eye area. Sorry, not helpful, I know Grin

ChickenStripper · 14/03/2022 08:44

TBH you could do a bit of make up , tidy your brows and use some concealer - you really don't need anything else!

Chimchiminie · 14/03/2022 08:51

Honestly can’t see what the issue is - it’s normal to have some degree of recess under the eyes (unless you’re a teenager). You look great.

I should qualify that - teenagers often have this too, but it’s mostly only the very young who don’t have any degree of this.
