What kind of jewelery/bag would you wear with this dress, please ?

I have bought a dress for 2 parties this month.
dress
I think it needs a little bit of jewelery, something delicate. But I did look - necklace , but everything seems either too heavy or too 'bright pink', where as the colour is a beige/pink.
And do I need a little clutch bag. How do I find one that it beige/pink, not pink/pink ?

By the way, the dress was reduced to £70, because of sale reduction and the 10% storecard that we took out. I didn't think that was too bad, for 2 parties.

I'd just go for good long earrings...too much stuff about the neck will spoil the dress as it has nice details -

carmenelectra · 04/01/2008 11:05

Hello

Dress nice! I wear some silver jewellery, similar to your link but without the pink. aAs for a little clutch bag id maybe try Accessorize as they have gorgeous bags, beady or sparkly.

carmenelectra · 04/01/2008 11:06

sorry i meant i would go for silver

Oblomov · 04/01/2008 11:16

Yes, thank you, maybe I have been overcomplicating things, by trying to get pink jewelery, I hadn't considered that silver would look good.
carmen, I did look in accessorise. Thay had 2 clutch bags that were a bit plain really. And at £20, I thought that was a lot, for something I didn't really like.

Lovely dress. I would go for quite a chunky silver bangle, something like this

MaryAnnSingleton · 04/01/2008 11:34

that's nice ninedragons - I always think that people overdo the jewellery -earrings/necklace especially - I think one or the other and then nice bangles or a really bold ring

carmenelectra · 04/01/2008 11:36

i think i agree about the dangly earrings. How about OAsis for clutch, they often have nice accessores and nice jewellery actually as well.

i got some nice vintagy style earrings before XMAS for about 12 pounds.

Oblomov · 04/01/2008 11:40

ninedragons, I do like it. I do normally wear chunky silver.
And becasue this dress is so feminine, I thought I should be avoiding my norm and going for something delicate.
Besides, do you not think I need something that sits on the neck, like a very delicate choker ?

saw some nice chokers in River Island couple wks ago.Nice with strapless dress/top

MaryAnnSingleton · 04/01/2008 11:49

I think it's just me not liking things around my neck !
If you have nice decolletage/neck/collar bones/shoulders then I think they look nice unadorned - you could spritz with a bit of highlighter/sparkle...SIL gave me some Molton Brown sparkle spray which has gold particles in it and there are other shimmery things - Nuxe oil I think (SpaceNK)

ninedragons · 04/01/2008 12:16

I think it's such a striking dress that bold and simple accessories would work better. I did like the necklace you originally linked to, but the overall effect might be just slightly busy.

I'd let the pattern speak for itself, rather than compete with something delicate and detailed.

ninedragons · 04/01/2008 12:28

here is a cheaper one. I like that the engraving very subtly picks up the pattern of the dress but doesn't compete with it.

here is one that's at GBP10.50 at the moment.

I have one that's very similar. I'd recommend it as a very versatile piece of jewellery, though - goes with anything from jeans to party dresses.

MAMAZON · 04/01/2008 12:32

i would wear a very simple chain that sits just at the base of my kneck, maybe with a very simple CZ stone.

stud earings

small clutch bag.

the dress is beautifull, why detach from it

MAMAZON · 04/01/2008 12:35

not quite what i meant but similar to this

CZ circle

ninedragons · 04/01/2008 12:41

This smoky topaz ring is lovely.

I think the sash could make it look a bit bridesmaidy with detailed accessories.

daffyd · 04/01/2008 13:09

I think long dangly earrings would work best-necklace would be too much-earrings and a bold cocktail ring would be brilliant.

Oblomov · 04/01/2008 13:43

oooooh my mind is all abuzz, with lots of ideas.
Thank you for suggesting the bold idea ninedragons.
I knew you all would sort me out !!!!!

Please let us know what you decide - I'm so taken by the dress that I'm genuinely intrigued to know what you do with your very pleasant dilemma.
