Look at Olay retinol

I swear by Kiehls creamy avocado eye cream , Sukin eye serum and Origins eye brightening.

Based on Caroline Huron's recommendation, I've just bought Curél's eye cream which was about £20. You use tiny amounts. I've only had it 24 hours, so honestly can't say if it 'works' or not, but CH is supposed to be a very straight-talking, reputable skincare expert, and she really likes it. But I think the idea of any of these products is that it temporarily plumps up the skin, thus smoothing out lines and making your skin look a bit better. I don't think it's meant to be lasting. So it depends upon your definition of what 'works'.

I suppose if I were minded to really test out the efficacy of a product, I would use it on one side of my face only, and see if there was any discernible difference after a month. Has anyone ever done this?

GingerFigs · 06/03/2022 14:45

No I haven't @BigSkies22 but feel like I should do the one side face test too, but whenever I buy anything I just slap it on all
over and hope it works!!

Also here to find a good eye cream....

I’ve used Nivea eye cream, a good Lacura (Aldi) one, now out of stock 🙁, and this, which is relatively cheap at £18. It works well, and is light and easy to use. victoriahealth.com/eye-contour-serum/
The best eye creams I have used have been expensive - I would use L’Occitane Immortelle or Clarins all the time if budget allowed!

I also think eye cream can’t work miracles…plenty of sleep, lots of water, no alcohol and healthy eating help hugely! Particularly sleep. 😁

I strongly suspect eye cream is a hoax. Why would we need a special moisturiser under our eyes? Surely you’d use it all over your face?

I’ve been using Clinique Moisture Surge 100 hrs and the 70 hours as a night cream and my crows feet are reduced to barely noticeable.
Don’t think Clinique counts as cheap, though. Have honestly been astonished to see a result.
