Is it worth spending more than £30 on a hairdryer? Does it actually dry any better?

Eti turbo hairdryer - absolutely brilliant. I have thick, long and wavy (frizzy) hair. I wash and blow dry it straight twice a week. Stays straight. It’s amazing. Mine was about £50 or £60. I had my first one for years, replaced last year with my second. Was gifted a dyson but it couldn’t cope with my hair, it would cut out and stop working half way through.

Which model do you have please?

I've got a GHD one and like it. It's definitely better than the Babyliss £40 I had before - faster and my hair is smoother.

@Bridewel1 I have the Eti micro stratus 3600 turbodryer and my daughter has the Eti 3500 purple turbodryer

I have the GHD one. I must have had it now for 8-10 years.

It's still is great conditon and going strong and I defo notice if I borrow/use a cheaper hairdryer. My hair is much more frizzy.

My gym has ghd hairdryers and they do seem good. Never heard of cloud9. I'd go for ghd
(I still have an original pair of ghd straighteners, still working perfectly, so the build quality must be good)

Cloud 9 is the brand owned by the creator of GHD. Since GHD was sold the quality has been inconsistent

SleekMamma · 24/02/2023 22:08

Ah I didn't know that. Well my ancient pair of GHD are brilliant. They were expensive at the time. But my hair is pretty awful, ot was worth it. They must have made millions.

I bought a Dyson (eye wateringly ££ , but got it from QVC , good deal , free P&P and 4 Easy-Pay) for DD and I to share . I thought after the 60 days I'd decide if it stays or goes back ..... it stayed

DD loves it for her long thick hair and she actually had some length off because she could straighten without using hair straighteners .
My hair is fragile menopausal , I use the cool setting , the comb and the smoothing tool

Babylis Big Brush rotating one drives me barmy , keeps catching my hair .
