What can I do for my skin?

I want my skin to look nicer. Things like even skin tone, less dryness, oiliness, redness. Fresher and more youthful! Not botox or anything invasive (I've had botox I'm not against it). Just want something to specifically improve my skin. Thanks!

Retinoids and/or acids would be a good place to start!

What do you already do? That’s possibly an easier way to start.

Retinol (use sparingly) vit c serum (research which ones are worth the money etc) and spf all day every single day are the three things most likely to have an impact. There are other things that increase the efficacy of the above such as a good cleansing routine, some gentle exfoliation and good moisturiser will help.

Ok so the one thing I do consistently is use an spf! I've tried retinol, vit c, salycic acid before but I wouldn't say I saw a dramatic effect. The salycic (can't spell it) acid definitely improved blackheads on my chin though. Maybe I need to stick at it longer instead of looking for a quick fix 😔. My skin is awful at the moment - dry in places, oily in other places, really dull and red in places. Make up isn't even going on properly. It's sensitive too!

Definitely need to give it a few months. Retinol for example can make skin look worse to start with, and take months to start to have an impact. Don’t go too heavy handed though and try loads of things at once.

So is retinol considered the best/most effective thing? Better than treatments like laser or something?

Have a look on The Ordinary website. They take you through a little questionnaire and then make recommendations from their VERY affordable range. I love it.

Great, thank you I will do that

I was never one to have like a 5 step skin care routine but after buying the ordinary products I am converted and look forwards to using each product every day. They are all very reasonably priced which means you don’t have to look for a “does it all” product.
My skin looks better than it has in years.
