Daytime bag that looks decent but big enough for toddler necessaries?

My scruffy rucksack changing bag is falling apart at the zips. Now considering recent threads on being Groomed, what would be a Good Bag that can take

  • all the usual handbag stuff (can't be doing with 2 bags) like purse, diary etc.
  • at least 1 cloth nappy or spare pants
  • gets thrown around everywhere e.g. on the floor at toddler club, so not sure if a beautiful leather bag would stand the pace
  • Ideally brown so it goes with my coats

We are very nearly out of nappies so it doesn't really need to be a changing bag, just biggish and stylish.

The old bag looked cheap and studenty, but actually was the right size and it's really useful to have a backpack when you need a hand for each kid. But I fear backpacks are a bit awful if you're not actually scaling a mountain or going to schoool.

Am I making any sense here?

Not sure if counts as stylish but I have a kipling bag, strap is long so you wear it across the body leaving hands free

I have this and I love it.

Er.. anything cheaper or am I looking at an Investment Purchase?

Thanks! The Hobo bag is just lovely, actually. I don't tend to hang bags on the pushchair, but need a rucksack or long-strap so i can chase the children around the shopping mall with both hands free. I have one of those big squashly leatherette over-shoulder bags but it tends to slip off and also get scuffed.

thanks very much for recommendations though. DH's opinion that I should carry on with a grey rucksack (we have several) so I will still look like a 38 year old student!
