Spring / Summer dressing for Autumn colours

Hi, it's taken me a long time (and getting my colours done) to realise that I'm definitely an autumn colours person. Colours that really suit me, and I get compliments on, are ones like burnt orange, mustard, teal, chocolate, emerald. I look really washed out in white, black, pastels, grey, beige.

This is fine in autumn and winter, but I really struggle to find spring / summer clothes to suit! Everything is pastels. Can anyone provide some inspiration?

I'm 47, brunette, size 12, pale skin.

I'm the same. I find that I have to search out red/brown/green tops (T-shirts in those colours are often sold in winter) and lightweight trousers in similar colours.

I've found a few things in Sainsburys Tu, H&M, etc, but you do need to search.

I'm an autumn and I wear a lot of mustard and teal and orange and navy in spring and summer. Also coral, if it's exactly the right shade.

Thanks. Navy doesn't work for me either unfortunately. Any ideas of where to get stuff in these kind of colours? So many shops are just a sea of blue and white.

For cotton and linen dresses, tshirts, shirts etc. you could buy plain white and dye it with fabric dye

La redoute has had darker/warmer colours in summer clothes in the past.

What about Kettlewell? They do summer tops in all the colours for the different seasons. It’s what they’re geared up for. Just click your season on their website & it will filter out ones that don’t suit.

I’m a bit of a Vinted evangelist but think here it would be perfect to find summery stuff in the colours you know suit you. I’ve similar colouring and love mustard which is pretty plentiful in my size (8). You can search for new with tags if used clothes are not your thing - it just allows you to look across a massive range of brand and focus on colours you fancy.

Try a small brand if you're tired of the same old thing. I find they have a good balance between pastels and neutral colours.

I found some cute pieces at charli.com Smile
