Yes the sizes are mad and I can never find anything in there anyway but dd1 is the perfect shape for their stuff - really tall and as thin as a clothes line.

MrsBadger · 03/01/2008 15:47

designed for longlegged but shortwaisted people with teeny tiny bottoms and no norks (ie my mum and sister)

their baby stuff is nice though

I'm waaaaaay to big for the women's stuff. Love the kids' stuff, but it's often the kind of thing where you need to buy the complete outfit, or you'll never find anything anywhere else to go with it. And I have seen kids' knickerbockers there - really not sure mine would go for that.

brimfull · 03/01/2008 16:03

you'd think they'd get the message

foe teengaers size wise butt dd says the nice stuff is too £££

Brangelina · 03/01/2008 16:06

Agree about the tops being for the flat chested, I've never managed to button a shirt up in there. However, the trousers are not skinny, I can get into a size 8 in Zara and everywhere else it's a 10. Though tis true the length is a bit hit and miss...

What makes me laugh is the sizing they use - an L in Europe is equivalent to an M in US/Mexico...is that for the feelgood factor? Mango are the same, an L in France/Italy is equivalent to an M in US or Germany (too many sausages?).

M&S is not representative IMO, their sizes are huge, the stuff is designed for older clients so the sizes are proportionately more "comfortable". Someone gave me a size 10 pair of jeans from there and they positively fall off me.

Quadrophenia · 03/01/2008 16:06

ohhh I know the answer to why their clothes are long. My sister was telling me that they are designed for a continental market where tailoring is cheap, so clothes are bought and then taken to tailors to get fitted to the right size, thats why they are all on the long side.

Brangelina · 03/01/2008 16:09

It's true about the cheap tailoring, I get trousers shortened for around 8 euros a pair.

LoveAngel · 03/01/2008 17:32

Zara tops fit me well, but skirts/dresses.trousers - forget it. made for slender Spanish 21 yr olds, not tall, 'curvy' cockneys
